Correct, I am trying to intercept this baby early. But you are crushing my dreams and hopes, hahaha. If it only takes 3 days for Kiev to transfer it themselves, I wont worry about it. But Kiev told me it could take up to six weeks.

But from judging by people's timelines on here...it's less than 3 weeks(?)

That’s what I was trying to say! That you better relax now than stress over the whole NVC waiting time as I did thinking they are gonna bother with replying to me.

And I requested my transfer to Kiev today. So I will let you know straight away how many days/weeks it takes to proceed!

If it was up to me, my fiancee would be going to Kyiv to have it done, but I can't make her do something she doesn't want to do/feel comfortable with. The Russia/Ukraine tensions make her nervous to travel there. Maybe after trying to get an interview date in Moscow for a few weeks she'll change her mind.

Your fiancee is a girl, there is no need to worry, if she is just careful enough. It is much safer to travel to Ukraine than to Georgia for a girl, believe me.

I traveled by train with my mom and alone to Kiev and Lviv in July, absolutely no trouble whatsoever.

So does anyone know the average time to wait for interview in Moscow?

We'll see. Our case should go from NVC to the embassy this week. Visa fees are already paid and DS160 is finished, so now we're waiting on the embassy to receive our case and contact my fiancee. She called them when we got our NVC case # and they said they'd e-mail her instructions when they receive the case, and she will be able to schedule an interview at that point. Not even sure how long that will take. We're ready to go and just waiting as usual...

My fiancee received an email early this morning (USA time) saying she is now authorized to make an appointment. However, there were no appointment slots available. Now to see how long this takes... 😂

Congrats! Where did you/she list her email in order to be contacted? As long as I remember, it wasn't asked on the 129f form.

I'm not sure where along the line it came up. I used the web contact form https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to give the NVC my e-mail address, that of my fiancee and to request that we receive notifications updates to our case. She may have also given it when she was filling out the DS-160, creating an account with the Department of State or when she called the embassy to ask when she would be able to set an appointment. We've handed over so much info at different points to different parties it's really hard to know which one was the ticket.

Today I got notice that my husband's interview is scheduled for Nov 29th, it was set for Nov 27, and the Consular sent us an email about the rescheduling. Called NVC and they gave me a different date and time, but was told to go with what the Consular sent us.  The customer service rep thought it was weird that they would send us an email about this before we got our interview details from NVC.

"Dear applicant,

Your interview is rescheduled for November 29, 2018 at 8:30.

Due to the Russian government-imposed staffing reduction at U.S. Embassy Moscow, there are currently limited Immigrant Visa or K (fiancé) Visa appointments available.  We recommend that applicants make every effort to appear for their scheduled interview.

In order to reschedule an interview date visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

When you signed up for an appointment, how many dates were available? My fiancee has been checking in every day and hasn't seen anything. We're all working on K1s as well, so our process may be different.

My fiancee got an interview scheduled for Oct. 30th on Oct. 16th. She wanted to surprise me, but ended up sending me a screenshot of the confirmation email because I was being really pessimistic about the wait and she wanted to cheer me up. Needless to say, it worked. 😄

Congratulations! How long has your fiancée been trying to get the interview date?

I’ve heard that some people are waiting for 2-3 months to do it, but according to timelines it seems to be faster

Hello everyone!

I have been looking at the list of the required documents for the interview and

I noticed that for a birth certificate and a police certificate they ask for " original and English translation, if required"

So I am confused, is English translation required or not? Does any of you know this for sure?

Thank you in advance!
