Hello!

We are going to call NVC today and hope to get our number. But I was told I need to contact Kiev in order for them to take our case. But do you think we should ask NVC instead?..

Thank you for your response.

If you don't let NVC know about your plan they will just assign you a Moscow number and ship it to Moscow. It means that to change in to Kyiv you'll have to first wait a couple of weeks or more before it reaches Moscow, then write to Kyiv and to Moscow and arrange the shipping to Kyiv, potentially wait a couple of weeks more and only then try to pay and schedule an interview. You should contact Kyiv to make sure they will take it, but I frankly don't see why they will not work on the case that was sent to them.

Yeah I was thinking that could have happened. That’s why I started to worry about it now.

The girl who did transfer the case said it took them only three days to do so. I still would rather have my case sent to Kiev directly (if it’s possible).

Ukranian embassy doesn’t answer me though. Probably cause I didn’t send them the NVC number. I’ll write to them again when I have one.

Oh, this is not good news, but something I should share with my fiancee. We just received our NOA2 last week, and she's already completed her DS-160. In order to transfer, she would probably have to complete this again, selecting the Kyiv embassy, no? Anyways, we have a few days to sort this out and come up with a plan.

This is good information to know. We are considering scheduling our interview for Minsk or Almaty. We do not have our NVC number yet, but when we do, we will intercept the case headed to Moscow and get it sent somewhere Soviet that doesn't have a long wait. This is getting so crazy, the situation between our two countries (Russia/USA). What bad timing.

If you transfer then you will have to change a country of your “личный кабинет” on the website. So it’s really better to just wait until after you are transferred to complete everything.

Hello!

is it even possible to get an interview in Minsk? I thought they didn’t accept foreigners even for tourist visas, and I’m not sure they do K1 in Minsk at all... but I don’t know for sure. Can you let me know when you find it out?

Yeah, that is what I read too... Too bad:/

I contacted NVC through the special form in order to change the embassy... I did it 8 days ago and there is no reply at all. On the phone they said they would reply when they have time.... Ukraine is ready to take our case, but NVC just wouldn’t want to transfer it, it seems.☹️

Did anybody succeed in trying to transfer at the NVC stage?..

Hi! Could you, please, share how you know that Kiev is ready to take your case? I would like to also transfer my case there while it is still at the NVC stage.

Hello! I sent an email to the Kiev embassy. They answered to contact NVC about it. And NVC just doesn’t answer... I guess there is nothing more we can do. ‘Cause on Tuesday NVC is supposed to send our case out to Moscow...

It doesn't sound like my fiancee wants to go to Ukraine, but she also doesn't want to wait. 🤷‍♂️ I guess we're in it for the long haul. 😪

What about any other country? Kazakhstan?

Thank you for letting me know. UGH Good luck with this! I think you can always ask Moscow to send it to Kiev directly. I believe it won`t take long because both Embassies process files electronically.

Kazakhstan was an even worse suggestion as she has a psychopath ex from there. I contacted a friend I have with the DoS to see if maybe he could grease the wheels, but with no luck. Things won't get better until both our countries raise the diplomat cap and the other embassies in Russia are able to open with full staff. Hopefully after the next meeting between Putin/Trump in October things will get better. He ran on a platform of better relations with Russia, but the legislature has been making it almost impossible.
