Moscow Embassy Intrerview Avalability

I've been informed that the Moscow Embassy, "Due to the Russia impossed staff reductions," do not have any appointments for Fiance'e interview.  and then they say to keep checking the site for available appoinments.  But they do not state how long af a time frame that it may take.  They also say we can write another ebassy outside of Russia and transfer the case there.   Does anyone know how long out appointment availability in Moscow goes for?  also how hard is it to transfer a case, and how much time does that take?

I would recommend transferring. I regret not doing it, which would make things fast for sure.

I scheduled my interview rather fast and quire easily, but the dates were only for more that 2 month ahead..Now there are currently no available dates and a lot of people waiting to reschedule at any opportunity.

I'm hoping the situation is better by next year; transferring to another country seems like it would be pretty difficult to actually do for us (at least, not without violating cardinal rules of immigrant/immigrant-intent visas, like not quitting your job or booking travel without a visa in hand).

What do you mean? Your fiancee will have to quit her job to be able to move to the US. You can book a travel if you want, but there is a great chance the process will be longer than you plan for.

Several people already transferred their cases to Kyiv or thinking about doing it once their case is at NVC.  Going through Kyiv is a month or two faster therefore it is worth considering.

There are currently no dates available.

The last time they open a calendar was Jule 17 and only for two separete spots for the end of September.

Yes, but she doesn't want to quit before she has a visa, and staying in another country long enough to do medical, interview, and get her passport back with her visa in it seems like it would use up more vacation time than she's got.

It will take two weeks at most. According to the law you are given 25-27 days off work a year. In many companies you can easily take an unpaid vacation for about two more weeks. I don't see the problem here. Just plan your vacation ahead and work to get these days off.

Hello! Our case is going through NVC now, but I am already thinking about transferring it to another country. I'll better go abroad and spend some extra money than wait for 2-3 extra months.

How exactly do I do that? What is the first step? And maybe somebody here actually did it..?

Thanks in advance!

My Fiance'e is a citizen of Tajikistan, she is currently on a Work permit in Moscow.  We had to contact the Consulate in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Since the Consulate in Tajikistan doesn't do Immigration visas.  and they said it will take about 3-4 weeks to get there from Moscow.  Most other consulates require you to be a "resident" of that country.  Good luck, and god Bless

Thank you for your answer!

I actually found answers to almost all of my question after more advanced research. It seems like Ukraine does not mind taking foreign cases and they have no wait times. I contacted both embassies (Moscow&Kiev) and waiting for their response next week. I really hope it is gonna work.

Good luck to you too!

Super!  Someone rather recently interviewed in Mongolia, if I recall, so that's another option, especially if the beneficiary lives in eastern Russia or Siberia.

I remember the Mongolia comment.  China or the ROK might be options for those living in Eastern Russia, but I have no idea if they allow transfers there.

Transfers to either could probably be arranged.  Mongolia would have far less of a waiting time (like zero), I'm guessing!

You call NVC when they get your case. As soon as they inform you that your case is there, you ask them to change the embassy due to the known reason. Then in a couple of days they will assign you a new case number already for Kyiv. This is the best and fastest way to deal with the problem.

Good luck!

Hello!

We are going to call NVC today and hope to get our number. But I was told I need to contact Kiev in order for them to take our case. But do you think we should ask NVC instead?..

Thank you for your response.
