NVC sent petition to Kyiv ... now what?

Hi everyone.  So I received notice this week that NVC sent our petition to Kyiv.  I thought I understood the process pretty well, but now I'm not so sure. I understand we need to submit DS-160 now. But I was under the impression I am also waiting for a notification from Kyiv before scheduling her interview, etc.  Am I correct in this assumption?  Or should I already be scheduling the medical and interview?  I checked our case online and the site says we are "ready."  I'm not exactly sure what this means.

Thank you so much for any guidance in this mysterious journey into the immigration process!

with your NVC case # you can call IMO and setup the medical. They are good about giving you the results the next day after 2pm. Just to let you know...they usually have appointments only 2 weeks in advance. Sometimes, very rare 1 week in advance. Setup your medical first and then at least 1 week after, the interview. "Ready" means your file has reached the embassy and you should get an email from the Embassy

Thank you! So do I call the embassy to setup the medical? We were hoping to combine the medical and interview into one trip to Kyiv. My fiancee lives in Donetsk and it's incredibly hard to travel through all the checkpoints between the two.  But it sounds like the medical and interview are at least a week apart?

negative, you have the case # i understood. you need to call one of the 2 centers that do the medical, that's who you need to contact. Leave a week in between medical and interview. The reason is to get the results and or not have to move the interview if something show up on the medical. Gewt the financial stuff ready, the police reports and make sure to send her/him the NOA-2 by email.

No, you do not call embassy to setup the medical. See the link with instruction on setting up the medical:

https://ua.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/151/Med-Exam-ENG-06-11-2018.pdf

It is impossible to do medical and visa interview at the same day.

Here is the link about the whole process about scheduling K-1 visa interview and what documents you will need:
