Hi vjers 

I have been on this issue for some days now and i need some advice from you guys especially those that are familiar with lagos US embassy.

I am having my cr1 interview on Tuesday 31st of july and i heard someone coment that vo dont accept customary court divorce degree in which i had traditional wedding ceremony back in 2013 with my ex and we actually seperated in 2014 but the official divorce degree was certify in December 2015 i married my wife in november 2016 not in nigeria but in America. My question is if the customary divorce degree acceptable because that is all i have .

They will accept it.because your marriage is traditional you have to go through customary court so you’re good to go         Good  luck

It should be accepted since Lagos accept customary marriage certificate(testimonial).

 

Be confident,maintain eye contact and tell the whole truth.

How did the interview go.  I hope your customary divorce certificate was accepted.

Yes it went well but i need a waiver for my prio visa overstay which will take us another 18 months. And 930 filing fee.

It is well.. so what were the questions the consular officer asked you?

He didnt ask any question, he just check my pictures and go to my previous traveling because my weddings was on Texas and my last visa was j1 visa which i overstayed so it was counted against me

Yes that not a problem it just the delay but if any has any job opportunities of any kind i love to do life sucks without job i dont mind the salary just to leave home while i submit this application.thanks
