I was wondering how much the medical exam and lab work costs that my fiance will have to do before she goes to the Embassy for her K1 visa interview. Also would I as the Petitioner be able to pay for it online for my Fiance or does she have to pay it locally when she goes to the Doctor?

Not sure of the cost since I did mine 3yrs ago but she has to bring the funds with her due to the fact that she probably needs vaccines that wasn’t given at a younger age. What I did was to go by my community clinic and check for the ones I didn’t get and had my GP give them to me before I go to Kingston....which turns out to be way more cheaper.  I took over $30.000 Ja dollars with me Incase I had any extra charges.

The cost depends on what vaccines she has already had in the past. There is a long list apparently that they need to have had. For my fiance in South Korea, she said it cost her $500 or so and she hadn't had any shots since she was a toddler I guess. And I'm guessing you won't know how much money is needed until she went through it all with the doctors. Most likely you would have to wire her the money unless the hospital there can take a credit card.

Check the website it has all the info also she need to make an appointment in order before going. I'll be going shortly, when I check it's $10000 but they said to bring $25000jmd for any unforseen issues if you need more shots. Also they only take cash I believe so I would suggest sending enough money through western union or money gram. Good luck!!

Did you look under the consulate link on the JA portal? Plenty of information there. I’m sure they take credit cards but not sure how you would do that from the states. Will be additional and more expensive at the hospital if she has to get vaccines, would def link up with a private nurse or clinic beforehand to make sure she’s up to date. I don’t remember the cost as my husband paid for it himself when he went 2 yrs ago but I think he did have to get a flu shot as it was flu season here.

@sasha8384 says cash only, maybe that’s for the medical as they take credit cards everywhere else in JA🤷🏽‍♀️

My fiance is going for his medical at St. Andrews on Tuesday.  The cost is $23320 JA and it is suggested to bring an extra $30000 in case of additional testing and vaccines. I will wire the money to him as there is no way to pay the hospital directly. That's approx $400 US

The cost for the medical 2 days ago was $23320 and fiance paid an additional $9150 for Dtap and Varicella vaccine.  He did not have a vaccination record.  They said he could get the rest in the US when applying for his green card

Does anyone know any clinics near Kingston/Portmore where they do testing for vaccines and will give them? Hubby's been to a couple who either don't do immunizations at all or they only do a couple. He hasn't been able to find his immunization record either, since it's been so long. Will he only be asked to do Dtap and the flu shot? He had chicken pox and mumps as a kid.

I checked my bank information to answer this question for you. I went to Andrews Memorial Hospital in Kingston in December 2015 and paid the following amount by credit card. The amounts shown below are in US dollars. You will pay in Jamaican dollars if you pay in cash.

Exam fee $127

Additional vaccine cost $28

I looked at the following website and the costs in Jamaican dollars as of today are following:

Cost for Medical Examination
15 and over       J$23,320
14 and under     J$8,850

https://www.andrewsmemorialhospital.com/usmedical/

It does not seem that there is a way for a sponsoring person in the US to pay for the fees in advance online. If you show up to the medical exam with your fiance, then you can pay the costs by your credit card.

My husband didnt have a record (he was 32 at the time of his appointment). They only gave him Dtap and varicella and he was good to go.

Oh wow, plz disregard what I just said as I just found the thread when it was current (4 years ago). My mind isnt as good as I thought. 😂

He did in fact take a copy of his vaccination record and had 3 jooks at his medical appointment. He had to get 3 immunizations. Influenza, tetanus and chickenpox. His total cost was around $20,000 jmd including appointment fee.
