My dad Petition for me last year September 2017. I am living in Jamaica 🇯🇲 anyway my question is at the time of birth my dad was not available  when  my mom went to register me it took 12 year after he add is name to my birth paper so are they going to request a DNA test ?? At what point of the process they normally request it?? I was told that because my dad add is name afterwards they are going to request a DNA. I am now 20 years old and my petition as approved and was send to national visa center  for processing. If am going to do the DNA do anyone know the cost???

A Similar thing happened with me. My dad was added to by birth certificate after 20 years... even though I lived with him all my life.

They had asked me to submit documents to prove that he was in my life and had a relationship with him or I would need to do a DNA test. I was able to do that by submitting school report cards from primary school and high school with his name on it as a parent. Medical forms.. pretty much anything I could find that was related me and had his name on it from prior years.

They accepted it and so I didn't need to do DNA test.

To answer your second question  - If they decide that they want you to do a DNA test, you would have to complete that before they approve the petition your dad submitted.

My dad was never in my life it’s just me & my mother. I don’t mind doing a DNA cause I know that he’s my dad nothing to hide. I wonder what’s the cost to get it done ?? I assumed you have already migrated??
