https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-br/niv is this where you went to pay your fee? Try that if you have already filed the ds160 just click continue and create an account to pay your fee

The k1 visa is in the immigrant part of the website. The one you quoted won’t help them

"Immigrant visa"?    Maybe just a typo or miss quote. Probably nothing,  but K1's are "non immigrant",  is there any chance you are on the wrong page/site?

K1 are non immigrant visas but with immigrant intent and they’re dealt with by the immigrant section in the embassy. They’re using the right website

When I click on the link it says non immigrant at the top. This is how I did mine as you answer the questions it will ask if you filed the ds160 and then it will allow you to pay. I had no issues

Hey all! I know that every case is different but I thought I would ask this anyway.

Today my fiance received an email saying that our scheduled appointment was cancelled for our  K1 interview at the US Embassy in Rio de Janeiro. The email said to go to the website that he scheduled it on for more information and rescheduling.

We looked at the website and the appointment has disappeared in general.

Anyone have any idea why that might have happened? We have clean backgrounds so I doubt it's anything to do with security.

We also don't know if it's fee related or not - every time we try to pay fees online we are not able to. We got an invoice number from the NVC forever ago but we have never been able to pay it through the CEAC pay fees option.

On the CEAC website it shows our case as last updated today.

We already have his airfare and hotel booked for his flight to the Embassy in Rio so we are just trying to figure out what we can do. We emailed the Embassy but unfortunately it is Friday so all we can do is wait. It's all very vague. It's pretty rough figuring out what to do with literally no information about why it was cancelled as our interview is supposed to be on August 14th.

Thank you for any guidance.

It’s the right website and you’re supposed to pay the mrv fee before being able to schedule your interview. It’s very strange that you scheduled without the payment (I believe I had to put numbers from my payment slip for it to go trough) and maybe that’s the problem.

You wouldn’t be able to pay with the nvc invoice number since that’s not how k1 visas work.

Unfortunately it’s the weekend and the embassy will only be able to help out on Monday. You can try and reason with them to keep the date and time, since you already got the airfare ready and all. But other than waiting and hoping they’ll try to accommodate you, there’s nothing else to do.

Im sorry this happened but good luck going forward

Are you also from Brazil? Are you applying for a k1?

Our embassy is Jamaica and yes its K1. That website facilitates many countries. I just took the liberty of selecting Brazil since that was the one the poster needed. If you go one step backwards from the link I posted there will be a list of countries to choose from.

The website you quoted and I pointed out it was wrong was the non immigrant section. As I already mentioned, the k1 is in the iv section

That happens. It’s normal. The embassies in Rio and São Paulo cancel appointments all the time. They close unexpectedly and if you just happened to fall on the date they have an issue then you’re canceled. Just go on ceac and pick another day. Pay the fees online. The site could be glitching and that’s why you couldn’t pay fees. Try to pay again. Check with the airline to change the dates but only after you’ve booked the new time.

Ok yes that is where I did mine. I guess I started at non immigrant but as I answered the questions that is where it ended up bringing me.
