Hi LaylaL! The below thread may be of help. Multiple people in the thread successfully obtained expedited AP to attend a wedding overseas. I wish you the best of luck :)

@LaylaL you can try it but that thread just shows 2 success stories out of possibly countless denials. IDK if it mattered that in both stories the weddings were in Canada. But you can still try, just don't be surprised if its denied.

Your Input Is Appreciated On This VJ Guide Proposal:

My fiancé and I filled out the k1 visa in March--hoping everything will be approved by December. I know he has to wait for advanced parole before he travels out of the country, but I was wondering if anyone has ever filed for any kind of emergency advanced parole? Does that exist? His brother is getting married in May and he would like to attend. Thank you!

Hi Layla, are you still waiting for the K-1 I-129f petition approval, right? So he is still in Ireland, correct?

Once approved, the I-129f petition will be valid for 4 months for visa processing. Then, once he has his K-1visa, it is valid for 6 months. That means he has up to 6 months of time before he has to travel to the US to marry you. Depending on the timeline, he might be able to wait and stay for the wedding before coming to the US.

Otherwise, yes he would not be able to leave. The K-1 is one time use, so he would need to enter the US, marry you, apply for AOS, and wait for AP approval before leaving again.

I'm more amazed by how people spend all the time to finally get here to the US, then immediately within a few months want or "need" to go back home... We never used our AP, and haven't traveled yet(minus some beach trips and him going to Ohio next month for a few days to see an aunt.) Next April we will fly over to the Philippines for a couple weeks,  and by then he won't have been home for 2 1/2 years... but he does work a lot like me too so hah.

I said it wasn't an emergency. I am new to all of this and thought that is what it was called.

Different people want different things. It's really easy to understand. Some people travel a lot, some want to see their family more often, some only want to be in the US temporarily.

Then maybe they should have gone for the CR1 that gives you Green Card right away and you can travel right away. It's like people doesn't look at the pros and cons of a visa before they apply for it. They just go with whichever one they "think" is going to be faster.

Waiting on AP was NOT an option for me so we were married before immigration as started.

As an aside, none of his family nor friends from the USA were able to attend our very small wedding.
