Emergency advanced parole

My fiancé and I filled out the k1 visa in March--hoping everything will be approved by December. I know he has to wait for advanced parole before he travels out of the country, but I was wondering if anyone has ever filed for any kind of emergency advanced parole? Does that exist? His brother is getting married in May and he would like to attend. Thank you!

The wedding is not a reason for emergency parole. If he sends out emergency parole application and put "wedding" as a reason.. USCIS will laugh at him.

You can try and request it sure.... but as @Roel said, don't get hopeful because it's really not an emergency. A wedding date can always be moved.. watch it live on skype or what ever, and no one will "die" from not being able to go so... but again you can try and request it but don't be surprised by a denial.

Emergency AP does exist....but a wedding not normally classified as an emergency....an emergency is kin to a crisis...........maybe suggest a Facebook live wedding.

Please check the definition of "emegency". Planned wedding doesn't qualify. 

 

Those qualify: 

• Severe financial loss to company or person;
• Emergency situations;
• Humanitarian reasons;
• Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States;
• Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: The request must come from an official U.S. Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to the Government.); 
• USCIS error; or
• Compelling interest of USCIS.

For me, as a person who actually had to use it because my dad was dying, it's really annoying to see people getting approved to go to a wedding. I think it's ridiculous. Why not accept the fact that "hey, I'm immigrating and I can't go at the moment" or have your friends/family member move their wedding date.

A wedding is considered an emergency?   SMH in disbelief.......What about a vacation?

I'm more amazed by how people spend all the time to finally get here to the US, then immediately within a few months want or "need" to go back home... We never used our AP, and haven't traveled yet(minus some beach trips and him going to Ohio next month for a few days to see an aunt.) Next April we will fly over to the Philippines for a couple weeks,  and by then he won't have been home for 2 1/2 years... but he does work a lot like me too so hah.

Exactly! They knew the event was coming, why not just postpone the move??

Well even if they didn't know until after the move (not all weddings need a year planning or something) but still; for me it isn't a justifiable reason at all, not even close to one. And no offense to the OP about this either, but just saying.

Emergency AP is usually restricted to life-or-death emergencies and other extreme situations that could not be predicted. 

 

A wedding doesn't fall into that category.

That is so not a valid reason. Deal with the consequences of a long AOS and wait out like the rest of us.

The wedding date was picked today from my understanding. In all likelihood the wedding will be moved, just wanted to ask the simple question before he told his family. Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply.
