Trump has attained the unattainable. He also waved his magic jobs wand.

I thought you guy's said Obama never topped 3%.  Why does the article mention a 5% increase in 2014 Q2 if it never happened?

Annual.

Annual.

Someone here likes to post that the GDP growth every quarter under Trump has been higher than any quarter under Obama during the entire 8 years. Best to compare annual growth to annual, or quarterly to quarterly.

If that's even important I guess. I've said this before, but I do give credit to Trump for having a positive effect on consumer confidence. My wife and I take advantage of this ourselves to pick up extra shifts and hopefully finish paying off her new car ASAP. My own sense of consumer confidence tells me this economy won't last forever, regardless of who is president, and it also tells me the next downturn will probably be worse than the last one. Now is a good time to prepare for that.

As you know I support the President but I am seeing this as well. I am seeing the deck of cards being stacked and it will come down soon, maybe not this year but in 2019 or 2020. Which if you look at China's hard numbers and delve into them just a little bit it is a façade at best. They have been using construction to boost their GDP all the while the stuff being built are largely sitting empty. Also the tariffs that are starting to affect them will make it worse for them as well.

So when that house of cards fall then don't think that it won't affect us here.

Yep. Three things we can be sure of. 1 - The whole world is going to feel this. 2 - We won't be able to buy our way out of this one. 3 - GWB will get blamed for it.

The next two quarters are going to be interesting. 4.1% is pretty good but there's no guarantee that it will stay that high. Upcoming interest rate hikes and tariffs WILL eat at that running average for the year.
