I had an issue of poor mental health around fifteen years ago, I still have the mood stabilisers on repeat prescription as I still have some low-level periods of manageable anxiety.

Almost didn’t contribute to this thread as it’s hard to write and admit, but it’s commendable to those who’ve already contributed so I may as well throw my hat in.

I’m worried it’ll affect my medical at the beginning of September but I’ll update you all and look forward to seeing the updates of others.

thank you for sharing. start prepping your documents now and make sure you have every little detail for any "significant issues" on your summary so you can be as fully prepared as possible. everything else should be fine.

This thread of Leesa’s is spot on imp (wish i had this to read before my medical, although my medical passed it would’ve been a great help) :)

Update

So, I dropped off the additional information request on Friday after my medical exam, I was told I could pick up the information on Tuesday. They did not provide or write anything close to what was requested so I had to wait again. I received the correct information last night, and e-mailed it across this morning. They have advised that it will take 3 working days to review, and that the doctor will call me directly if anything else is required. If everything is fine it will be sent to the embassy, and I won't hear from them at all.

Fingers crossed peeps!

Hi Guys!

Going on my medical examination on Wednesday. I don’t have any letter from GP yet, but I will go anyway. My GP has been very unhelpful and made me waste 2 months time just for a letter saying I don’t have any medical records. So, I get your frustration. I hope soon it will be all over for us.

Good luck Alex.! If you have it in writing from your GP that you have no records, then you have no records! Knightsbridge can't really ask for anything more than that, and hopefully this will be fine. Let us know how you get on. :)

I’m impatiently waiting for my medical next Saturday. Can’t believe I had to wait a month for it. Really slows you down. However in fairness the interview is booked for mid Sept through trying not to rush and be too cautious. Folder of docs sitting gathering dust 🙈

*Your first post beginning "Hi all"*

Thank you so.much for.aharing your experience. I too have Borderline Personality Disorder which my attorney has assured me shouldn't have an impact on my visa application but your post explains differently. I have made a formal request to my Dentist, GP and Hospital for a copy of all my notes/records/documents in hopes that I can mitigate the issue. Thank you for the warning. I guess asking my psychotherapist is a good idea too.

As for vaccinations, I think I'll now make an appointment to see the GP and assess dates. Maybe I'll jus get my daughter and me fresh vaccinations all over again and hope it's enough! Lol

Is there a list of required vaccinations anywhere?

Does anyone know if you can call Knightsbridge and book an appointment with them before you have the NVC case number and/or an interview date? I might try to get ahead of the game.

Good luck all xx

it won't impact your application so long as you have everything that goes through your diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. feel free to message me directly if you need any more information x

This site has lots of information on it, price lists for vaccinations and explains the whole process for anyone else who likes to have as much info as possible to feel in control! 😂

I just wanted to add, you can sail through your medical with a mental health diagnosis if you bring a letter from your doctor explaining your diagnosis, prognosis, assessment of your suicide risk or risk to others, and current and past medication. Ask them to be comprehensive.

A very professional, patient doctor explained to me that such a diagnosis is no bar to a visa, they just have to check on those things. I was approved and heading for my Embassy interview :)
