Expired Police Clearance

Hi there everyone,

My question is regarding an expired police clearance certificate.

I lived and worked in South Korea for 1 year back in 2012. I am back living in South Africa now and applied for a police clearance certificate for South Korea last year. I received the certificate in October last year, but the application process took longer than expected and by the time of my interview my Korea police clearance will have been long overdue.

However I have read somewhere that it doesn't matter if a police clearance is out of date if you haven't returned to that country since. I will of course have an up-to-date South African police clearance certificate.

Can anybody tell me if this is true?

Thank you in advance

It's true.  Check out the last paragraph under the "Police Certiticate" tab that starts out "Important".

Hmmmm....don't know why part of the link broke.  But, you can cut/paste it into your browser and it should work.  Sorry.

To tag onto the question. Does this include if you have been back to the country to visit? I have an expired police certificate from the UK where I used to live. But I went and visited for 1 month in May. Would I need to get a new certificated because of this?

Thanks.
