Yes it applies to Vawa applications received after Sep 11,2018.

You need to check in your State what they require to issue the police clearance,in NYC they issue the police clearance with any name that you ask them.

Friday one member of visa journey asked a police clearance in NYC with one of the names he had in his utility bill, his name was misspelled, they told him it will be ready in 15 days.

Hi Sandra, thanks for answering!
I wonder how in the states of New York and New Jersey good conduct letters "Police Clearance" can be obtained for names that do not match the ID of the person requesting them. In NJ, for example, it is the court of justice that delivers such letters and only issues them to the proper names described in the ID of the person requesting them.
Can you please tell me where and how can I get "Police Clearance" from several different names in the state of NJ and NY? Do you need a lawyer for that?
Thanks in advance!

The l485 usually is denied in Vawa cases because the person got married before Vawa approval,or because of any in admissibility (felonies) or in case of misrepresentation the person didn’t submit a waiver to overcome the misrepresentation.

How did USCIS know the person got married? Just curious ...

Did they disclose this after filing or through a background check or something?

Marriage/Divorce are public records, so they are easily accessible.

Also you have to swear to tell the truth under oath, so if someone lies about marriage status during the interview, it will come out and then the GC will be taken away because it was not obtained rightfully. The person will then be placed in removal proceedings.

I came to united states 2017 with my Husband who was during that time a Member of the Armed Forces. I met him 2015, we got married and lived together for almost 2 years in Germany.I'm a German citizen. initially i didn't want to come to the united states because of his anger issues i was scared it was going to get worst and he would've had much power and control over me, since i don't have close family members in the US, but after a long conversation and long thinking i didn't want to give my marriage up neither my Husband so i gave us the benefit of the doubt to work on our issues. Whenever we got to his new duty station, Washington, he started with his aggressive behavior over again, even worst! Everytime i didn't do what he wanted me to do, he threated me with immigration and how he was going to kick me out. his new duty station didn't make it better. He used to gamble the money my parents was supporting me with and his money since we had a joint bank account, up to the point where we didn't had no food in the house and i had to beg neighbors and friends for help. He used to get mad and upset with me about this and used to hit me and mistreat me. He eventually after me overstaying my visitor visa and after begging him to please help me get a status so i can work and support both of us too, he applied for my Immigration paperwork.

As I mentioned before you need to inquire  in your State how it works to issue police clearance. I know about NYC because I had hundreds of Vawa applicants  in NYC..

My i-485 (based on the approved Vawa) status is "transferred to another office" as of August 2018. If I change the address, will the countdown for the i-485 interview starts from the beginning (as they will have to relocate my case)?

Please advise.

A change of address won't affect your waiting time if you're still gonna be in the same field office; but if you change cities or states it may change based on the workload of that office but they take into consideration your filing date.    You may not change the address to another state just to be interviewed sooner.

Hi .. Please I have question for you or anyone know the answer .. My sister she just noticed a mistake or error made on her i 765 application form lawyer assistant who filled up her application .                           Now what about an 765 application for renew work permit made with inadvertent error about marital status .

1-What will happen for her i765 case now?

2-Would effect  i485 case pending ? Would they will denied her 485 or replaced in removal proceedings ?

God bless you .

Hello everyone,
I appreciate in advance if someone can get me out of the following doubt:
When an RFE response is sent to USCIS, does USCIS send a document via physical mail notifying that USCIS received the response to the RFE or simply USCIS updates on the Web system claiming that it received the RFE response without sending a physical notification?
Thanks in advance for your comments!

You will not get a physical notice in the mail when your response to an RFE is received. Sometimes USCIS updates the online account but not always.
