If you’re medical was done over a year ago, do one. Take your passport, social security number, the interview letter, I-94. Take along as much of the evidence you submitted with your vawa application, as you can never know what they’ll ask.

Thanks a lot. What about tax papers for federal income tax return?

Guys, i am new in this forum.
I suffered  physical, emotional and psychological abuse fron my US citizen wife.

The abuse started November 2017, we met in October 2016,married April 2017. Because of the love i have for her hoping that things will change and her constant threath of calling immigration on me, i could not speak out.

She filled for me, in December 2017 and that was the begining of unending abuse. I have my work permit July 2018, but she eventually abandoned me mid-august and interview for adjustment of status fixed for Monday September 17, is now in jeopardy.

My attorney advised that I file  VAWA i360, to put i485 in abeyance,so as to save my work permit from being cancelled.

So,he quickly filled i360 and after write to USCIS field office that will adjudicate my i485, with a copy of i360 and UPS mail tracker of i360 sent to Vermont, for them to hold my i485 in abeyance, he put it in the letter that he will send the receipt number of i360 to the field office as soon as it is received.

He said he has to do this quiclky so that the interview will not be considered as abandoned and my work permit cancelled.

What is your comment has my attorney did the right thing so far?

Thank you.

@MJM2001 we moved out of that place two years  ago and the lease was signed by me and my ex husband, and the landlord did not sign it. The receptionist of that place is super rude and is the person I have to talk to to get a lease that was signed with the landlord as well but she had already said they do not keep those records for long, sounded not wanting to help me getting a signed lease by the landlord. I was hoping that may be there is another way round where I can formally ask and get the copy of the signed lease

No. You'll need to keep asking and hoping or take them to court. That's a civil matter. Landlords can be right idiots. I've definitely experienced enough of those. You should speak to a lawyer for a free consultation.  Maybe try and get old bills in your name at that address and statements from others stating you lived there. Anything that proves you both lived there together. And write your own statement explaining with proof of rental agencies response. Don't call, email the rental agency. You might be able to to get statements from them saying you both paid?

Please  I need in starting my VAWA case, my wife is a USC , but my Lawyer want me to file i360 first and wait till approver before doing the i765 and i485, I guess he's doing that because of his retainer,  but I told to do something for my best interest.  PLEASE VJ can I file the 3 forms together and my EAD can fall under c9 instead of c31 and I can have pending i485. I just need to work. Please advice. Thanks

@Asherolu, Yes you can file  i360, i765 , i485 and get EAD under c9 category.

Take them if you have them. I brought a lot of stuff, but wasn’t even asked for my I-94. It’s better to be prepared, than not. They do want the new medical though. They also want to see your passport. Pray before you go. I pray you get approved on the spot.

Morning guys and happy Sunday.

please before joining this forum I sent my VAWA application with the declaration statement of just 4pages and eventually I ready on this forum that at least a minimum of 6pages is required(my lawyer never says anything about it and now am scared).

my question is that should I wait for RFE before sending another declaration of more than 6pages or I should not wait for the RFE before sending them to Vermont .

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

thanks
