Anyone here lives in nyc can refer me to a not so expensive place to get my evaluation done

I did not get it because I got approved the same week I was searching. I am going to write it here in case someone’s else need it. He specializes on VAWA and immigration cases so he knows what he is doing.

Usually when you send the docs to them, how fast are they sending any letter or something to let you know that they got the mail and started working on it ?

They are pretty bad with online updates.

When you send your initial petition, you should within 4-6 weeks and get a letter in the mail. They are supposed to answer a response to an RFE within 60 days but sometimes they take longer. They might send an online update that they received your response but they don’t always do that.

Sandra is on a well deserved vacation.

I'm sure she will post something when or if the proposed policy changes take effect.

Currently VAWA applicants are not considered public charge for using fee waivers (or other forms of aid). I do not believe the proposed changes are directed at vawa, asylum or refugees. But again when the policy moves forward I'm sure Sandra will explain it for everyone here.

According to most attnys and legal aide groups you should continue to get and use anything available to you that you may need.

That's crazy. Did you submit a rental agreement with both your names?.

Yes,  but it was just the front page I had on my phone and they said they are not sure we both signed it, though I already got a copy from the apartment.

C9 if you have an pending i485 (which you send together with you i360 as you mentioned above)  This is the one to apply for now.

C31 category work permit will be giving to you once your vawa is approved.

What category is work permit of US Citizen spouse that apply for VAWA and Sent form { i-360,  I-485 and waiver  to USCIS } but mark Part 10 number 12 of form i-360 to apply for work permit.

If you have sent form I-485, you are eligible to apply for I-765 under category C9 no matter what you checked on your I-360 petition. Everyone who has a pending I-485 has the privilege to apply for a work permit that authorizes you to work while you wait for your case to get adjudicated. Same with I-131 (Advance Parole/travel authorization).

Employment Authorization. If USCIS approves your self-petition and you currently reside in the United States, you
will also receive employment authorization. USCIS will issue your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with
eligibility category (c)(31). Select “Yes” if you want USCIS to send you a (c)(31) EAD as evidence of that authorization.
Select “No” if you wish to request employment authorization separate from this self-petitio
n (for example, an EAD with
eligibility category (c)(14) based on deferred action)

Hello. Has anyone that filed VAWA (360/765/131/485) this 2018 received their Advance Parole, AP card? I have an emergency trip (I’m still in status) and would like to know a decent timeline to expect it.

Also, I keep reading about a “combo card”. Should I wait for it to arrive with my EAD over 90 days? What is the current timeline for the AP card? Like, how long did you wait?

Thanks!!
