I am giving you on calendar days NOT working days... they supposedly work on working days, who knows.

Hi Folks. Let me explain something here about the RFE. USCIS will issue RFE  if the officer wants more proof of the abuse and/or bonafide marriage. It's not mandatory that the IO issues the RFE. USCIS decision is discretionary. But if someone forgets to submit documents that are mandatory when filing AOS/VAWA they will deny without issuing RFE, documents such as a copy of birth certificate, copy of marriage certificate, divorce decree, if any, etc.

I got my case transferred to the NBC 6 days after the vawa approval, then waited almost 6 months for the interview

Timeline: 

May 2016 retained an attorney and started to prepare my VAWA petition. 

11/08/2016 mailed my packet

11/28/2016 USCIS rejected my packet (expired forms) :(((  

11/29/2016 Mailed my packet again Via ExpressMail (I-360, I-485, I-864w, I-765, I-912, G-325A) with previous rejection notice on top & a request to expedite EAD

12/14/2016 Date on the NOA  

12/31/2016 Attorney emailed my Prima Facie (Notice date 12/19/2018)   (180 days)

01/14/2017 Mailed my husband’s birth certificate with the blue receipt that came with my Prima Facie

01/17/2018 I-360 online Update (correspondence received)

12/25/2016 Notice for Biometrics

01/12/2017 Biometrics completed

01/31/2017 EAD update (Ordered my new card)

02/04/2017 My first EAD delivered.

02/06/2017 Picked my EAD & applied for SSN

It depends where you live, CA e NYC are taking 9/12 months to schedule the interview.

hello @sandranj and @iwillsurvive please i need your help,It’s been a month that i submitted my form I-1485 and when check the online status it says at this time they can’t give me any information.Secondly my vawa was approved in july so my visa became current in october that’s when i filed for the I-485 so how do i start counting to estimate when it will be transfer to another office?Thanks for understanding!

You will count when the local office receives your file.
