The psychologist MUST have a license to practice psychology. The professional has to mention"your background, onset of problems, ABUSE TOLD in details, tests performed, number of sessions, diagnose, treatment plan and referral,if needed.

@sandranj thank you so much for posting this update, it helped to answer so many questions that many people have asked on here. Answer 32 also states that RFEs will still be issued if needed, so that's good to hear.

Thank you and have a happy Thanksgiving 🙂

I think they are only talking about Appeals/Motions Regarding Answer 32 .. I am not sure about it .

May I ask you where did you read about "no RFE" anymore?

I read about it here. And here is the link

https://palmerrey.com/news/2018/9/16/the-new-uscis-guidance-regarding-rfes-and-noids-and-its-negative-impact-on-legal-immigration

I don't know how accurate it is. I get confused with all these laws.

It happened to me too. I asked my lawyer she said vawa is a law. Long process..If uscis won’t accept vawa applications after Dec7 anymore, Uscis should be announced by now . They won’t just stop it with out any announcements.. right?

Hope it make you feel better.

Yea it’s true am also thinking about that too cause I been checking their website of uscis but they didn’t say anything about vawa reauthorization but I think we should keep our fingers crossed and see what’s gonna happen next year

Hello Everyone,

I put my timeline as my signature & I hope it'll be helpful to you; it's missing some minor details which I may include later if needed (multiple expedite requests, inquiries and dates of PF extension requests)

My VAWA application included:

  1.  My statement with detailed information about the courtship, marriage and the cruelty  (approximately 6 pages) I  had to include a little background about domestic violence in my family only because my husband used it against me so it was relevant to the abuse and threats to  my safety.
  2. Four sworn affidavits from witnesses including the person who introduced me to my husband and the others who saw my life deteriorate after marriage.
  3. Marriage certificate.
  4. One piece of mail I had showing our address where we lived (I had nothing else, since he kicked me out without without belongings)
  5. Proof of good moral character (criminal background check).
  6. Some documents showing education and credentials.
  7. The passport used for entry with VISA & I-94.
  8. My birth certificate.
  9. local/city ID card
  10. My USC husband's birth certificate (submitted later after receiving PF with the blue receipt)

I couldn't afford a psychological evaluation and I was really extremely worried since  my case was based on extreme cruelty, but I had no choice at the time due to the lack of means.  I relied on a lot of prayers and the credibility of affidavits.

Both would be good. You need to obtain every supporting document within your reach to give credibility to your petition.

The counselor and/or psychologist have to be Licensed in the state they practice.

Hey @gramercy did you recieve an instant approval? I noticed you received your GC less than 10 days after your interview. I am going for my interview on Tuesday, kinda hoping for a similar result as I really wanna travel back home for the Holidays. I have opted not to use my AP and just wait for the GC.

That's Correct and I wish what you are saying is Right Regarding USCIS still sending RFE if the Need it , But when you look at page 11 above question 30 it says appeal/Motions So those questions regarding Only appeal/motions .. Which is Mean for Only people Making appeal or motions USCIS they will send them RFE if they Need it .
