@Hanna Buias I remembered, you once mentioned about asking the ombusman to represent us to contact with VSC. Will we only contact ombusman after our case fall outside normal processing time? Can they ask if our case is still in normal timeframe? How to write to them? And how can you find the ombusman?

I had contact with Congress office, not Ombusman. I wrote a letter t to Congress office about my issue of out proccessing timeline. They replied that Vermont have pproved my case and they will send a notice about 30 days. I am waiting the notice coming.

Congressman and Senator will help a lot.

Donot hestate to contact them. Best of luck.

Hi All,

I hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful thanksgiving holiday 🙂

Quick question: does the FBI background check during the biometrics appointment override the need for a police clearance?

Thank You

No, you need to submit police clearance from all places you lived in for 6 months or more 3 years prior to filing VAWA. USCIS will obviously still check the FBI database to do their own research.

Hi do you mean that there wasn't a change in your online status check..yet it was approved already? And you had to find out through the congressman...?

@iwillsurvive thank you so much.

I have lived here for 14 years now so I got one from my county but my attorney says it's not required. Well if anything is delayed (hopefully not) cos of them, I will sue for sure, but hopefully they know what they are doing 🙂

Thank you

Have you lived in the same state for the past 3 years? You need police clearance from the state, not county.

I'm so tired of waiting on my own case.

I filled on June 06th 2017

Notice of action June 12th

Then: nothing.

It could only show at anytime I checked my case that my fees were waived.

September 19th 2018: RFE for good moral character. ( so it took USCIS 15th months to touch my file😓)

November 4th: rfe  answered.

Novenber 9th: rfe received by USCIS.

Crossing my fingers... the wait is paralizing.

@Yollande it not an easy wait for real.I waited for close to 17 months and status was at fee was waived until today when I got the email. You are close🙏🙏

You must submit police clearance just for the l360 application.

Your information is not correct, the person can choose between to get  police clearance from the State or from each County he/she lived in the past 3 years,if he/she lived there over 6months.

@sandranj Wow! Thank you so much! In my state, they actually charge for the state police clearance but not for the county clearance report. So I will ask my attorney to send in the county report that I have.

Thanks again!!
