Legally speaking you can,but I saw 3 members of visa journey that got married after vawa approval, they had the AOS interviews  and two cases the local office submitted for revokation, two years ago, and Vermont didn’t deny yet but they didn’t affirmed the approval either.

Make sure you take your time dating. I saw MANY cases of VAWA  petitioners that got married after dating for  just a few months and they were battered again. Pay attention to the red flags such as you didnt  meet his/her family yet, he/she doesn’t get along with his/her family,he changed jobs quite often, extreme jealousy, propose too fast, refuses to socialize/meet your friends, yelling, calling you names, kicking wall and doors when angry etc.

Thank you Sandranj for sure i will take my time.

That was a mistake i did with my abuser from the beginin, she was not getting along with her own family, and don't socialize.

Thanks for advice

You are wrong! I received deferred action for 15 months and my lawyer applied for EAD C-14! EAD based on deferred Action

@Peru1234 how long after you submitted VAWA did you received Deffered action???

Also I entered without inspection and I never went to school here. Will that effect anything? I though Deffered action was mainly for DACA recipients.

Usually they take 10 days after vawa approval.

The work  permit is taking 90 days to be approved.

Its ok to ask for clarification when you are confused. Sandra isnt on 24/7 so try re-reading her posts or using search feature with her username. Most things have been answered somewhere in the forums...

Anyway- there are several ways to get an EAD with VAWA.  If you have a 485 you can apply with that (c9). If you only have the 360 you have to wait for it to be approved (c31). There is also a 3rd way (less well known) and thats if you get deffered action on your 360. That makes you eligible for an EAD based on the deffered action. (c14)

If you file under c14 you will have to wait for the vawa to be approved for the work permit.

They are pretty bad about online updates. No need to worry if you don’t see an update in your account. As long as you are still within normal processing times, there is nothing to worry about.

If your I-360 got approved in May, your I-485 is most certainly transferred already and probably also already at your local office. Just keep watching the processing times and be patient.

No they are adjudicating March-May 2017 right now.

November 2016 is officially the date that if you filed before then, you can submit a service request. You can use the first number in the range to calculate processing times. Don’t look at the date. That’s just for when you can submit a request.

Yes you can file I-765 usinf category c31 if you only submitted I-360. You will receive your work permit once your VAWA is apprved.

@iwillsurvive,  Please explain better   " They are adjudicating March-May 2017 right now.

November 2016 is officially the date that if you filed before then. "

USCIS officers are currently working on applications submitted in March-May 2017. This is a general statement about what they are working on. Some people who filed before that are still waiting and some people who filed after that were already worked on/approved/denied.

IF you filed Nov 2016 or earlier and you havent heard anything you are eligible to put in a service request. You can only put in a service request when your case has been pending for a min period of time or longer. Currently that date is Nov 2016. If you filed after Nov 2016 you can not put in a service request and have to wait.
