You can file it afterwards fine..they won't care. Note this is just for the I-864 sponsor.

 

For the actual pending case, you need to file an AR-11. You can do this here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAInitForm.do

 

To be safe, I would have the petitioner complete the Change of Address (COA) for the I-130, and also have the beneficiary complete one for the I-485.

My wife changed her last name. Should she file it with her new last name or old one?

I would use the name as stated on the I-485.

As a heads up, they will issue the green card in the name on the I-485 as well. So if she used the maiden name there, she should send a letter to request that they update it, and verify at the interview that it was updated. Fixing it after being issued mean filing an I-90 (several hundred dollars) and waiting around a year.

She is a USC (the petitioner and the sponsor.) I am the one who filled I-485 and my name hasn't changed. As for my wife should she use her maiden name - she filed I-864 using it. Or her new legal name?

Gotcha.

For the COA with the I-130, she should use the name listed on the I-130.

For the I-865, she should use the name listed on the I-864.

I would use the name as listed on the form since that's what they have in their system. Using another name, IMO, could result in confusion since they may mistake it for a different case (i.e. if somebody mistyped the case number, you wouldn't want them to be able to just change the wrong person's mailing address).

I see. Should I just send the form or do I need to attach anything else? A cover letter?

Can I file change of address after approval of IR1 and IR2 visa for my wife and kids. Would it be a problem with the immigration officer at the port of entry when they arrive in the US?
