hello everyone,I want to ask can I reschedule the AOS appointment. As my passport is expired and I just went to renew it. It takes 15 days to be done. I recieved my appt notice just today but my interview is 2 weeks later. They sent me the notice before but returned. now I received it.So everything is just wrong now. don’t know how to figure out. I tried to schedule an appt to infopass but can I go into there without my passport?I only have a copy of my passport page now

Does the interview notice say that a valid passport is required? It wasn't a requirement 2 years ago (unless the rules have changed since then):

Did USCIS issue an EAD? An EAD can be used as ID to enter the USCIS building.

yes I have a combo card which is for work and travel before I receive my green card. So I can bring that to enter the building? Do you know if I can use it for interview too?

The interview notice does not mention how to reschedule? Because it should; see example https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/if-you-feel-sick-please-consider-canceling-and-rescheduling-your-uscis-appointment:

Quote

If you need to reschedule an appointment

Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice to reschedule your appointment. There is no penalty if you reschedule your appointment.

I can not find the reschedule instructions on the letter but only say if any questions contact them. I scheduled an infopass until next wednesday . Would it be too late to reschedule it? But that’s the earliest day we can pick.

Maybe more experienced users will provide better advice. @geowrian what do you think?

You can request a reschedule. Personally, I would do the interview anyway. The rescheduled interview would likely be several weeks away, whereas an RFE after the interview would likely take the same time or less.

But I don't think an expired passport is an issue for the interview in the first place. An expired passport still acts as evidence of identity for many purposes, it's just not a valid travel document.

I forgot my passport at the day of my interview (yeah i was pretty dumb for preparing everything except my passport) I went thr security and showed my driver license to get my ticket for interview number. During interview, IO asked me to show her my passport but i told her i forgot. She asked “its not a good start” then she asked me more questions to verify my ID. A month later I got my card.

When you have your interview? But they listed the passport in the checklist and I haven’t had my driver license but a driving permit and an EAD card.

The problem is the old one also in the consulate that they will return to me until I get my new ones. I don’t have passports in hand now. Do you know the reschedule only takes a few weeks?

Ah, so you don't have one on you at all. Well the yeah, they will require some form of valid ID. While an EAD contains more info than most forms of ID (biometrics, photo, description, etc.), I don't think they would accept that as a form of ID.

As noted above, a state ID or driving license should be fine to use as well, but it sounds like you don't have that either. What form of ID do you have on you, in case somebody asked you for ID (i.e. if you applied for a loan, wanted to travel domestically, etc.)?

The process to reschedule isn't that long...just make the appointment and then request it. How long it actually takes to reschedule depends on the local office and their interview slots. It could be anywhere form a couple weeks (not busy local office) to a few months (severely backlogged ones).

I only have EAD and driving permit and they are still available. I just tried to call USCIS, they suggested me to go to the interview and explain to the IO why I don't have my passport.

I concur....an RFE would likely not be longer than any other interview + potential wait after the interview for approval. At most it would be a couple weeks faster, but could potentially be months longer rescheduling (I don't know your local office's scheduling backlog).
