The NVC will send you an email saying they have received all of your documentation and you are in line to recieve an interview/appointment.

I actually did received the email from NVC saying it's documentarily qualified.  Do you know the timeline until the interview schedule is received?

So this means that NOA2 does *not* mean Case Complete, right? Are you saying that CC is something that comes later (after AOS/ DS-260) and that you are notified via email that says "they have received all of your documentation and you are in line to recieve an interview/appointment." ?

NOA 2 definitely is NOT case complete.  It just means the petition was adjudicated.  Case complete happens when the NVC receives all of the documentation they need to forward your case to the embassy or consulate so you are in line to get an interview date.   (K1 do not get a case complete email, this is strictly for those who do processing at the NVC like IR1/CR1, IR2/CR2, IR5, etc...)

Hi all, I am new here and hopefully to get my questions answered from the professional here.  Thank you so much!

I received an email from NVC on 7/3/2018 in below,

Does that mean it's CC (Case completed)?

Do I have to do anything to move on to next step or just wait for the interview schedule from them?

What will I expect to receive in the next step?

And does any of you know the timeline to receive the interview schedule?

Subject: Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified

Dear XXX,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in MONTREAL, CAN to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/interview for information about immigrant visa interviews.

National Visa Center,

Yes  CC

the Case complete to interview sheets can give you an idea of the lag between cc and interview if you filter for your visa type and consulate

You should look at the NVC process on the state.gov site.. Preparing for the interview.. and begin gathering the documents etc and scheduling your medical. Once the interview is scheduled and the consulate has your file they will email you with additional specific  information

Ok thank you, I just got confused by Uncola's post and the fact that even on the VJ timelines there's nothing showing 'NOA2'. So wasn't positive what it referred to.

My original understanding for CR-1 was that when we got a letter that our I-130 was approved and we could now start with NVC that *that* was our NOA2. And then CC comes after approval of the packet IV. If this isn't right, please correct me! :)

Does NVC ever actually use the words 'case complete', or is it used on the site somewhere? Or is this just the general lingo for them emailing saying you're documentarily qualified?

Packet 3 is instructions on what documents to send to the embassy/consulate before they schedule an interview.

Packet 4 is instructions on what to do in preparation for the embassy/consulate interview. Typically this includes the medical exam, DS-160, scheduling the interview, necessary documents to bring, etc.

Some embassies and consulates only send a packet 4.

POE = Port of Entry = location where you enter the US and are admitted by CBP (i.e. where you go through US immigration).

Thanks for the explainatios.  However, I have never received any packet 3 request to be sent out while NVC said it’s documentarily qualified and told me to wait for interview schedule from the email.

It sounds like you are doing an immigrant visa. NVC will take care of scheduling the interview and such once your case is complete.

I just noticed this was posted in the Canada regional forum. I'll defer to others for the process once you are at Case Complete at NVC.

So immigration visa does not has anything to do with packet 3/4?  I think my case is completed as NVC did send out an email of documentarily qualified, isn’t it?

NVC used to say your case was complete and in queue for interview.  Now they just say whatever it is they're saying... LOL

NOA2 is the notice from the USCIS that they have adjudicated and approved your case.  Otherwise you'd get a NOID (notice of intent to deny.)   Take a look at my timeline... Where it says I-130 approved - that is when you received your NOA2.   There is a physical piece of paper that should be sent to the USC stating the case is approved and it states "notice of action" thus NOA.

CC comes BEFORE the P4.    The P4 is the interview notice saying WHEN your interview is.  IR1/CR1 do not get a P3 anymore.

Do not confuse the IV packet (immigrant visa) with the P4.  It looks like the roman numerals but is it not.

Now I am much more clear, thanks for the info.  So my case IR1 won’t need to wait for P3 coming instead should be waiting for P4 now.

So you have you case complete.

You have to wait for the NVC to assign you an interview date.  When they do that they will email you a notice with that date.  That interview/appointment notice is called the P4.

Only K1 have to do a P3 for interviewing in Canada.

Do you know Bieber long it take some to receive the interview date from NVC?
