Hi all,

I am a newbie here.  I am US citizen and my wife is Canadian citizen.  I started the I-130 application last July, 2017, gone through all process and recently received email notification from NVC saying my visa case becoming documentarily qualified and awaiting the interview appointment to be scheduled to me.

My question is does anyone could share the experience on how long it will take to receive the interview appointment from NVC/US Consulate Montreal?

Thank you for your help

Generally they book interviews every month for a month out.  It normally takes 2-4 weeks after the cc to get the interview date.

The date I received the approval notice from NVC was July 3rd.  So should I expect the date to be received in about 4 - 8 weeks?

If you miss the cut off date like I did you wait the following month. So don't panic if you don't get an interview date right away.

How long did it take from you submitting your final docs (AOS & DS-260) til getting case complete? We just submitted ours yesterday (Aug. 2nd) and trying to figure out timelines. The main timeline search on here just shows NOA2 and then interview date, but obviously some people take longer to submit their final docs than others.

I submitted the final docs on 6/21 and received the NOA2 on 7/3.  I am trying to find out the approximate timeline of when the interview date shall be received.  Do you anything about that? Thanks!

Maybe I'm confused...I thought the NOA2 was when your case was transferred from USCIS to NVC and then shortly after you received a case number and could do the AOS (I-864) & financial docs + DS-260 & civil docs. Then after AOS/DS-260 are approved you get 'case complete' and then after that an interview.

Are you saying NOA2 = case complete?

Also, for other info here is a thread just started on wait time from submitting AOS/DS-260.

And here is where I asked for wait time (no one has answered yet, but maybe keep an eye on it)

For wait times from case complete to interview, there is a spreadsheet here you can check:

I meant NOA2 = CC.  Does the email from NVC say it’s “documentarily qualified” mean case completed?

Subject of the email: Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified

I only received an email from NVC with the subject line saying “Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified”. Does that mean cc?

As ITMFA said, dont schedule an interview before you get packet 4 from Montreal.  They will cancel any interview without notice if you do.

Hi, I am new here.  Can you tell me what isn’t packet 3/4? And at which stage to receive packet 3/4?  Also what is POE stand for?

The NVC will send you an email saying they have received all of your documentation and you are in line to recieve an interview/appointment.

So this means that NOA2 does *not* mean Case Complete, right? Are you saying that CC is something that comes later (after AOS/ DS-260) and that you are notified via email that says "they have received all of your documentation and you are in line to recieve an interview/appointment." ?
