Maybe it's because it's from K-1 and it even used to be that K-1 AOS sometimes did not need an AOS interview? So even though now all marriage-based AOS will need an interview, K-1 is still treated a little differently because bona fide relationship was "proven" during the K-1 process?

This literally just happened to my wife and I. We had an interview scheduled at the USCIS office at 10:15 AM. When the officer called her name we both stand up and make our way back. When we got to the door he said, "We only need her today." We were both confused because it said specifically to bring your spouse. After 10-15 minutes my wife comes back out. The interview is over. They only asked her a couple of questions from the I-485 form and give her another letter that says our case has been continued, no more information is needed but you may be scheduled for another interview. This was a complete waste of time. I had to take a day off work for this and now I may need to take another one here soon?! I really don't understand what is going on here.

After you wrote this, what we are thinking is that they might be testing some kind of a “new process “ out there. May be we just happened to be one of the first couples who tested it ! Assuming USCIS once in a while do changes concerning the speed of taking  action on applications( as I read from previous threads). Everything has to be alright !

BTW, have you got any updates yet ?

Let's hope it's a new process. We're both honest, hard-working people with no legal problems and plenty of supporting evidence so we're having a hard time understanding what's taking so long.

The interview was this morning. The letter said they're unable to complete our case at this time and is being held for review. It also said to allow no less than 120 days before making an inquiry about the case.

We have the same situation. Interview was last week 7/19 morning (office at Atlanta GA). IO called our number. My husband and I walk over to her. She very friendly. She say don’t need my husband to come in. Both of us look at each other (husband and me). Got me nervous. Next I try to take the bag from my husband (big bag with documents and photo). IO say don’t need to bring in. Went in the office oaths and finger print. IO say we don’t need your husband because the 129F has been approved. AOS is about me. IO ask questions from the 485 form. Took my ID and our marriage cert. Ask about my medical report. Told her the report is with my husband. She say will take from him later. Few more question and she say we are good here. Walk out with me to my husband and take the medical report. My husband ask her can we open a champagne and celebrate? She laugh and say yes. Leaving the building I just got confused. Approved or not approved? We did not receive paper or a stamp. Did not received text on the day. We only received approved on 7/25. New card is being produce. Yeah! Relieved.

First of all, congratulations!! This makes me feel better, though because it sounds like the same thing Mariia and I are going through. Fingers crossed we'll get an approval letter next week!

It happened to me when my wife and I went for AOS Interview. The officer asked me to go out, and he asked my wife questions about what we did the day before coming to the interview. I was later told to come in and was asked the same questions. I said exactly the same things my wife told him. He approved us on the spot.

That's a stokes interview.

A couple of hours ago the status of our I-485 was changed to "Initial Review"' then quickly after that it was changed again to "Card/Document Production" and we ordered your new card for case xxxxxx. I'm guessing this means we've been approved? I can't find anything that specifically says approved.

Thank you! What a long, exhausting journey this has been. I didn't have a good feeling after the interview this morning but now it's looking like things will be moving along as we expected. Good luck to you with your AOS! Keep us updated.
