“England and Wales currently lag far behind other countries with their divorce laws and there is a strong mood for reform, which includes the introduction of ‘no fault’ divorces.”

No idea, it appears from a reputable source. My thinking that if I am 70 ish 80is and been married 40, I would just go to another part of the house and ride it out. Thats just me however. If the lady wants out that should be her choice.

I know in the Philippines because of the catholic church influence, there is no divorce, only annulment which is expensive and takes a long time. Lot of married in name only couples over there

Didn't they just pass a law that Filipinos that get divorced overseas will have their divorce recognized in the Philippines. At least a step in the right direction I guess.

I guess it's true.  One British friend of mine's divorce seems to have been a multi-year ordeal because her then-husband didn't want to let her go.  In the end she managed to persuade him, though.
