I wonder when exactly fingerprints will no longer be taken at the Consulate?

This is what is not clear to me so far. I understand they say it applies to interviews scheduled after August 29 but it just souds counterproductive to keep the officers in the Consulate to take fingerprints and just do it for some applicants and not others (because as it is, you can have people interviewing on the same date but with different scheduling dates) 🧐

So, where is the ASC where you need to get biometrics and photo done, is it at the consulate in Rio and do they make you an appointment at the same time you make an appointment for your interview?  Or is it a walk in basis ?

We got approved this morning. The interview was very easy and lasted less than 5 minutes.

Just a heads up for those who are going to the interview, they were asking for documents that were not listed in their website or Package 3, like a copy of the US Citizen's passport or birth certificate. Luckily I had that with me from the i129f.

Good luck to those still waiting.

Hello Newly Approved Visa Applicants,

First of all congratulations on the approval! 😀 I hope to be joining the club in the next couple of weeks.

Question, is there anyone who decided to go with the Visa pick up option in Rio (as opposed to it being mailed to your Fiancee)?

If so, how long did it take to receive your visa?

Hello there!!

Yes, after NOA2 everything gets much easier - even when you are not one of the lucky few who fly by the final steps of the process! 😆

Our case, for example, only became "Ready" 45 days after our NOA2 got approved... And to keep the tradition, we were a bit behind getting the notification to go pick up the visa as well.

My interview was on Aug 28 and I only received the notification to schedule an appointment to collect my passport today. Another girl from VJ that had the interview on the same day got notified on Aug 30 and collected her passport yesterday.

In short, I'd say: if you choose to go pick up your passport, it might take anywhere from 3 days to 20 to get your visa in hand after approval - in my case it will be 13 days because Friday is a holiday so I could only schedule an appointment for Monday Sep 10.

As in everything else with the K1, you never know EXACTLY how long it will take to complete the parts of this process! 😂

Hello, again!

Just to keep everyone in the loop, my status changes to “Issued” yesterday, so I believe I will be receiving an email about the collection some time next week. 😁😁

I will let you guys know when I have the visa in hand.

To those of you that are moving to the NVC/interview phase now, congratulations! You will all be surprised at how smooth and fast this last part is compared to waiting for NOA2 🤣

(And also, to the ones who haven’t done so yet: please remember to update your timeline with as much information as you can to help other members; also leave a consulate review if you have already had an interview.🙏)

after the interview we can track our visa? where at ?lol congrats

Congrats to you to!

You can check it on the CEAC website, same one you used to track your case at NVC. It will go from "ready" to "issued" at some point.
