Congratulations to @Ayrton and @Moraesm on your approvals!!!

If you don't mind...are you having your passport/visa delivered to your house or are you picking it up? And how soon did you receive it? Thank you! :)

I opted for delivery, they gave me 10 working days. I've just checked the CEAC status an it says issued, last updated yesterday, 4/11. My interview was on 4/10.

This actually raises a new question: has anyone who's also opted for delivery received a Correios tracking code? So far I haven't got any emails or communication of any sort. I want to make sure I'm home when the delivery is due.

Thank you! Please keep me updated if you remember. My fiance opted for delivery also so I'm curious how long it will take to receive and if you can track it.

@birdie54

Update!

I got an email this morning stating that my documents have been posted at Correios for delivery, along with a tracking number. The email also states that it takes 1 business day for the number to work and 1-2 business days for the shipment to be completed. So I'm expecting it do be delivered this week.

Fiancé had his interview today.  He went by himself.

He said he saw lots of couples getting approved for their visa and lots of people there by themselves getting denied or being told they need more documents.  From the reviews I've read on the consulate in Rio, if the American goes to the interview, more time is spent talking to them than to the Brazilian applicant. He said when he arrived and said he was there for a K-1, the first thing they asked was "Where is your fiancee?"

Have to wait for him to get home and email me the request form to find out exactly what they want now.  He said it was a document that wasn't on their website and that he had never heard of.

This sucks, y'all.  More money 💸

Try to check the tickets on the website cheapoair.com, maybe You can have cheap tickets and can be in his side in the next Interview, will be better for You.

My fiancé was together with Me, only a document they ask and I don’t have was the copy of the passport from my fiancé..

Take all the documents from the check list on the website and also the documents  You have in the folder there You send when opened your process to visa k-1.

Yes, before he left for Rio we went over the checklist on the website together and he had everything.  He wasn't missing any documents when he arrived and arranged his documents per their list at the consulado.  He's on his way back home so I'm still waiting to see what exactly they requested.

So he was told he needed to get a "Certidão negativa de pé" from the State of Sao Paulo.  He says he has never heard of this document.  He went to the forum to request it and they said they would have it ready next Friday.

I'd love to see the stupid form they gave him, but he has to walk to a Lanhouse and pay to scan anything.  And he can't take a clear pic with his cellphone to save his neck.  🤦🏼‍♀️

I don’t understand what’s “Certidão Negativa pé” and think You wanted to say “Certidão Negativa da Polícia Estadual” from the state of São Paulo - but this document is on the list (is Certificate of “Polícia Civil de São Paulo”) And I remember in my interview  many people’s there don’t take this document and they have a computer to the people’s can print. So they don’t needed to go outside to print..

Ah. I got the correct term just now:   “Certidão de Objeto e Pé”.  Apparently it is a part of the “Certidão Negativa da Polícia Estadual” if there was a criminal action listed.  He did tell me of a case that was filed against him.  He went to court and the case has been resolved for some months now.  I'm guessing that's why they want this.

If you speak Portuguese:

Certidão Negativa Criminal na Justiça Estadual

ATENÇÃO: não deve ser confundida com a Certidão de Execuções Criminais.

Esta Certidão deve ser emitida obedecendo aos seguintes critérios:

  • ser de ações criminais (certidão “criminal” ou “penal”);
  • referir-se ao Estado (Comarca) onde reside o pesquisado;
  • fazer referência a Juizados Especiais Criminais;

A emissão desta Certidão depende do Estado onde reside o pesquisado. Geralmente, ela deve ser solicitada diretamente nos fóruns responsáveis.

(NOTE:  if the Certificate contains criminal actions, a "Certificate of Object and Foot" may be attached to each action, capable of informing who the parties are, what the object of the action is and where it stands.)

I understand now.. But don’t have this document on the website and also I never see the people’s saying to take this document. It’s the first time.

Can he send the document for e-mail or “Correios” to the embassy in Rio? They said will need new interview?

They do require court and prison documents, even for cases that were dismissed, as per the consulates website, so it’s understandable that they asked for it if the docs provided were not enough to satisfy their requirements. It’s a setback but it should be resolved, unless this is really serious and has to do with CIMT crimes. I believe you can send the doc requested by mail.

best of luck

No, they don’t have it on the website and they SHOULD.  And yes, we can email the document to them.

HE told me that they said he would have to return for another interview.  But I’m not sure that’s right.  The interview is done, they asked him the typical questions. And CEAC says the visa is in Administrative Processing, which is correct since they requested further documents.  So, I think one of two things will happen:

a) they will get the document from him and either approve or deny the visa, OR

b) they will get the document from him and the visa will sit in administrative processing until who knows when (as has happened to others).

If by chance he does have to return for another appointment, you can bet your sweet bippy I’ll be there.

I agree. Completely understandable in this instance. And no, it’s not serious. Nothing that should get him denied based on what I’ve read on .gov websites.  No jail time, not a federal offense, no drugs, trafficking, or moral turpitude.
