For those who had the visa mailed to them after the interview was completed.  Did they perhaps provide any tracking information or were you able to call to get tracking information for the package?

They will send an email when the passport is mailed and it will have the tracking number so you can check

approved yesterday! I have two questions:

1. I'm organizing my trip to the US and I am wondering: for the next steps am I going to need any certificate from Brazil?! Like, the police certificates? what documents that could have origin in brazil will I require for when I am in the States. I am not from Brazil so i'm anticipating I will not have a family member to help me out here.

2. Is there a page with the information for the next steps. i.e. AOS, Work Permite, SSN, etc?

I've been through all of this thread and a few others, but I can't seem to find what I am looking for and hoping someone here can clear something up.

We are doing a K-1 and the beneficiary has a minor child that will be coming with her. Our case is "In Transit" as of today and we are looking to schedule the interview very soon. Do we need to schedule a separate interview and pay for it for her minor child? Or does the child just accompany us as part of the beneficiary's interview?

Thanks!

You do pay for both also if anyone else was curious. I would assume for each additional one as well.

Yes, payment for each person. Same goes for medical.

Read the guides and forums for aos, theres also a separate forum for ssn. Best way to be informed is to read and understand the process before going through with it.

The only document I really needed from Brazil so far was my birth certificate, can’t really think of anything else, and since you’re not from there, not even that...

I'm seeing different information on what evidence is needed for i-134 for the interview. Is the below correct? Am I missing anything else?

  • bank statements (do these need to be signed by a bank official?)
  • current employer statement
  • most recent federal income tax (1040)

Include recent paychecks. If you’re handing the 1040 make sure you have the accompanying w2 that go with it.

the employer and bank statements are not really needed if you have good current income.

Happy to help as we just had our interview last week.

1.  The photos for the medical I made myself. I don't know about the passport phone app, but there are tons websites that you can use for making passport size photos and many of them you can select the 3x4 cm size. I did that, printed it and shipped it.

2. First, the K1 interviews are only done on Tuesdays. In the past they have sometimes opened up Mondays, but when I scheduled mine, there weren't any Monday options. The medical should be complete 3-5 business days prior to the interview (it depends on the medical facility & city). You can call and ask the medical location where she will test how far out they need the appointment before the interview. The biometrics appointment is scheduled at the same time as the interview, you can do that as little as one day in advance, depending on their schedule and availability. Please note that both the medical & biometric appointments don't have to be completed in Rio. My fiance lives in a large city, so he was able to do them in his city prior to travling to Rio. Depending on your fiancee's location, they may want to have the medical and biometric done in a nearby city.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions!

Hi there! I just wanted to confirm that my fiance is able to complete the biometrics in Sao Paulo prior to the interview in Rio? Thanks in advance!

Good morning vj members from Brazil and their respective fiancé(e)s or now spouses, I’d like to ask something extremely important, It’s bugging me and I’m honestly a little scared.

I’ve been following this forum for more than a year now, reading people sharing their experience and what to do at each step of the process, sometimes in a very detailed way, sometimes not, but many of them say they Schedule their interview, pay the MRV fee and send their DS-160 as soon as their petition moves from NVC to their embassies, aka NVC ‘In Transit’.

I decided to wait until status ‘Ready’ to actually do these things and was able to Schedule my interview on the 19th of February, filling out and sending the DS-160 form as well, since it’s necessary to have a DS 160 number before registering at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-br/iv. I have a medical appointment scheduled on January 21st and I haven’t received any letter from the Consulate in Rio so far. I know it’s also because of the holidays, but I’m afraid they’ll not email me the letter - also known as P3 with instructions from what I understood - (or my fiance) soon enough for my interview and medical.. and from what I could see, some embassies schedule the interview for the applicant (beneficiary), they’re not able to pick the day. I’ve read in many threads talking specifically about Brazil that we do schedule our interview.  I need to confirm if it’s true and how long it took you all to receive your letters once your cases’ status changed to ‘Ready’ and what exactly you had to do after receiving it.

Should I reschedule my medical? What are your opinions? Is this P3 letter what I need to attend the medical? I emailed Dr Garridos clinic and they sent me instructions and a list of required documents and one of them is exactly a letter from the Consulate with an RDJ number on it. The only letter I have received so far with RDJ number is from NVC.

I appreciate any help and I’m sorry if this question was already answered before :(

As an extra info, I’ve contacted the Consulate through email asking about this letter and explaining everything and all they said was that my case wasn’t ready and that I should wait for instructions to schedule my interview.

Sorry for quoting you in a separate post, but I couldn’t help but notice that you said you were able to schedule your interview, which is part of my question in the post above. I read many times that we are able to schedule our interview and that’s what I did as soon as my case status changed to ready, and because I see that you already have your fiance’s scheduled for an interview since Dec 12, I’d like to ask if you could give me some insight regarding my questions. I very much appreciate any help.

I understand how this can be confusing. The letter from the consulate sometimes comes, sometimes doesn't as the P3. The P3 is instructions that are available online. If it does come, it's much after the fact. What we had to take to the medical was the emailed confirmation of the scheduled interview. You will also need the NOA2. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry for my delayed response! If there is a location in Sao Paulo, then yes, your fiancé can complete them there. When you schedule your interview, you will also schedule the biometrics and you can pick the location for the biometric at that time. Best of luck!
