Brazil interview coming up for my fiance...

I  had some questions for things I couldnt find the answer to and perhaps those who recently interviewed could fill in the gaps!

  1. I had some extra photo copies I had submitted for the i129f, so I'm going to be sending her those extras for the interview, i know she only needs one but ill be sending a few extras anyhow.   The ten required for the medical though are a different  size, 3x4 cm, any tips for how you couples dealt with this and had those photos taken?  Did you go to some place in rio nearby?  The i129f/interview photos were easy because I just used a passport phone app, I was disappointed to find that the medical ones are a different size requirement.
  2. So the interview is now 2 day process I've been reading through various threads.   What was the timeline like for the medial + those 2 days?  I was thinking about flying her out to rio on a sunday, having scheduled the medical on that coming monday, then biometrics some day in there before friday (dont think this one matters) and then interview on that coming friday.  I figured the medical on mon, interview on fri would give enough time for the results to be gathered in time for the interview.  I'm surprised I'm having a bit of a difficult time finding the answer to this question, it is giving me the most anxiety I think despite a few hours of digging.  Looking to keep costs under control but also wanting to give enough time for the test results, the few people that seemed to mention the timeline for medical, the general idea was that the results take 3 days so I think the exam on mon and interview on a friday would work best...

Lastly congrats on all those who just finished their interview, this will be a huge weight off my shoulders stress wise once I'm at your point, total envious!

Happy to help as we just had our interview last week.

1.  The photos for the medical I made myself. I don't know about the passport phone app, but there are tons websites that you can use for making passport size photos and many of them you can select the 3x4 cm size. I did that, printed it and shipped it.

2. First, the K1 interviews are only done on Tuesdays. In the past they have sometimes opened up Mondays, but when I scheduled mine, there weren't any Monday options. The medical should be complete 3-5 business days prior to the interview (it depends on the medical facility & city). You can call and ask the medical location where she will test how far out they need the appointment before the interview. The biometrics appointment is scheduled at the same time as the interview, you can do that as little as one day in advance, depending on their schedule and availability. Please note that both the medical & biometric appointments don't have to be completed in Rio. My fiance lives in a large city, so he was able to do them in his city prior to travling to Rio. Depending on your fiancee's location, they may want to have the medical and biometric done in a nearby city.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions!

Thank you so much for this info!  Sadly she lives in the north in the state of Para, no where near any of the doctors offices in the 3-4 locations provided on the embassy’s website.

We will take your recommendation to call of course but it sounds like she will have to be in rio for an entire week now.  It will likely be about the same cost (but more hassle) to fly her twice,  to do medical in a city then rio for interview, so probably best that she just stays in rio for an entire week.

I had no idea they only scheduled interviews on mon/tues so that was extremely helpful info!

So I had my interview on November 6th and chose to have my passport delivered at the belo horizonte CASV. I called there on Friday and today and my packet is still not there.

So for anyone else who had their passport delivered in belo, how long did it take?

And has anyone that had their passport delivered to them that had their interview on the same date as me?

What status does it show here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Is it issued or still in AP?

So looks to be at least 2 month wait now.  Probably because of the holidays perhaps.

We’re still in administrative processing due to his medical report being delayed but my fiancé said only one of the others in his group with interviews the same day as ours has not received the visa. The rest are already in the USA. :(

Hey. So my Fiance is sent me the papers on the mail and they will likely arrive on Monday. However, she also sent me the notices of action and I just realized the confirmation page says that I need to bring a "comprovativo de I 129 F aprovado" to CASV appointment. Which is also Monday. is the comprovativo the same as the NOA2? or can I present for example, the document from the NVC saying that the approved i 129F was sent to the embassy?

I have a picture she had send me of the NOA2. is there any suggestion?

I'm still here if it makes you feel any better lol. But I will be arriving in the US on monday. Does your fiance have green/light eyes and curly hair? If so, I saw him there at the interview but I was interviewed before him.

Sim. The comprovativo is the NoA2. But take the NVC letter also. But can I ask you where it says to bring the comprovativo but I just dont remember where it asks that, but I know it does.

I know I took the NOA2 and the NVC letter. Im actually paranoid so I took basically every document that I had lol.

It switched to “ready” status today so I hope that means they finally located his medical report and will issue his visa soon. Congratulations on your departure and safe travels. Yes, that was him :)
