And since my interview is on the 6th and there are no more appointments available and since my fiance already booked her ticket here. That wont be an alternative lol

Can you tell me what you mean by no more appointments available? We finally are ready to submit the DS-160 and schedule an appointment. Are they already out of November appointments and not scheduling December yet? Or did you mean something else? Thanks!

Yes. The CPF is just like the U.S. Social Security Number so enter your CPF number in that space.

Doh! I'm glad someone asked about this! It looks like we need to edit our DS-160. How do we do that? I've heard all sorts of versions of answers on it.

No need to make a change now. Do so at the interview. CO's do this all the time. No problem.

Hello all, seems like everyone had disappeared after they got approved.

But for those who haven't. I have a copy of my birth certificate that was emited on April is this year. I know some places here in Brazil require a new updated birth certificate every 3 months.

So my question is, can I use this birth certificate that was emited in Abril 2018 or must I get a newer one to present at the interview?

Hey everyone, had our interview yesterday in Rio.  Here are some tidbits that may be helpful to others.  First of all, we were approved, and I accompanied my beneficiary to the interview.

my fiancée was very nervous about the questions they would ask her.  She was just nervous in general.  In the end, they asked her no questions, they only asked me.  They swore her in but didn’t swear me in lol.

They interview you thru a glass windo similar to a bank teller.  Questions they asked me:

1.  How did you meet?  Was it a dating site?

2.  When did you meet?

3.  How man times have you been to Brazil?

4.  How do you and your fiancée communicate - - language?

5.  You were married before only once?

6.  We see her you once before filed a 129f, you canceled it and why?

after hearing my answers, they said in English and Português your visa is approved.  You will receive it in 10 days.

The waiting room has about 10 people, mostly couples, a few beneficiaries alone.  All that we could see were approved except for one couple who didn’t submit the correct police certificate.

One woman was asked if she knew her fiancé ex wife’s name?  I thought this was strange, but fortunately she knew.

Another couple before us, all the questions were directed to the beneficiary, none to the gringo.  I really found no pattern or rhyme or reason to the questions they asked, most were random to me besides the basic “how did you meet, etc”

hope this post helps for those waiting for your interview

Maybe it would be possible for us to update the wiki here for Brazil with some of the great info in this thread? It would be a nice way to help those that come after us as this thread will probably get forgotten at some point.

For the interview in Rio, you can present a birth certificate as old as you are lol, it just has to be in good conditions.

However, after you get to the US and get married, if you wish to register your marriage at a Brazilian consulate there, they’ll ask for a recent birth certificate (issued in the last 6 months).

This will depend on the consulate that oversees your state, though. For example, the Boston consulate doesn’t specify, therefore they should accept it.
