So I have a theory and would like your help to see if it makes any sense. I was filing the i-865, the Sponsor's Change of Address form, and on the form under the part "where to file" it doesn't say and all it says is to check the website to see where to file the form (which means it changes) . If you go on the website (https://www.uscis.gov/i-865), in my case for example, which I live in Oregon,  is  not listed there so it'd be under "If you live anywhere else in the United States, mail the notice to USCIS - Nebraska Service Center". Now why would they want me to send this to Nebraska if I live in Oregon and filed with CSV? It would just be extra work for them to then have to send it to CSV or "my local office" as it says my case has been transfered to in March. I asked another user who got transfered to Nebraska an he lives in Chicago, which would make sense since Chicago is not listed there as well... this could be a stretch by my theory is that depending where you're suposed to send your 865 to is where your case is being transfered to? I'm a december 2017 filer so I havent got a transfer notice in the mail yet (only the "glitch" one online)... but Im guessing my case is probably going to Nebraska? what do you guys think? Anyone else has other insights about sending the i-865 and do they send you a confirmation by mail?

thanks!!

An I-865 only applies to the I-864 sponsor so the government can reach them (i.e. in the event they request repayment of funds due to a means tested benefit obtained by the LPR). It has nothing to do with an active case still being processed.

An AR-11 (which can be filed online) is for updating the address associated with a pending case (i.e. an I-751).

Not that I know of.

To change the address associated with a pending case, use this (basically an AR-11 filed online): https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAInitForm.do

Yes, an I-865 should be filed as well since the I-864 sponsor has moved. But there's nothing actionable with it...they just update the address on record so they can reach the individual if needed.

But it sounds like you're okay since you already did the AR-11.

That's fine. It still is an AR-11 even if filed online.
