K1 Visa denial concerns

Hello!

Chiming in with my two cents:

Engagement ceremony - Do NOT have a beautiful white dress, do not send photos with your packet, please please, do not make the same mistake that so many others have on VJ.

You do NOT need a lawyer. Yes, everyone has a right to their own opinions, but there are many resources here on the website and lots of us have been through this process and would be happy to help.

Good luck to both of you!

This is all wrong. There is no travel ban for Tunisia. It is not high fraud.

My wife and I had an engagement party, and she brought pics to the interview BUT she definitely wasn't wearing a white dress. There was also a sign in the background in the pics that included the words "Engagement ".

Hi! Just want to ask about this as I just had my engagement party in Indonesia with my fiance, who is my petitioner. My engagement party looks pretty grand as I invited many guests but mostly close friends and family. Is it ok to show pictures during the engagement party during the interview? I was wearing a golden dress and I included the word 'Engagement' in all of my decoration, cake, signs ,etc.

Well my now-wife didn't encounter any problems showing those pictures during her interview. She just showed a few taken with my family and her family together. Basically it was to show both our families accepted the engagement and pending marriage. She also made it clear it was a 'cultural/family' obligation to have a formal engagement party before the wedding.

Thanks for this! May I ask how big your engagement party was? Did you do a traditional engagement party or a modern one?

It was 50-100 people I think, and modern. You know you don't have to show engagement photos. I obviously don't know the circumstances of your relationship, but my wife just provided the photos to show she had met my mom and other relatives. I am pretty sure we would have gotten the visa w/out those photos... Point being, if you're concerned about the photos, don't use them. If you submitted them with your original packet/petition, then I wouldn't worry either.
