To me - the only concern would be that you started dating/talking when you were 17. I have known other cases (they were married - not doing a K1) and they had begun their online discussions when one of them was 17 and it was heavily emphasized on what was said and done with a "minor"

If he didnt visit you until you were 18 that's less problematic, but make sure that your conversations/submissions from before you met are all "clean"

we met in the first time when i'm already 18 he came here on my birthday

As far as the lawyer goes...if you can afford it, go for it! First, you will get a legal advice and answers to all the concerns you have from professionals, not just people speaking from experience.

Second, I've seen denials and RFE's because of clerical errors, typos, incorrectly filed forms, a lawyer will make sure it won't happen.

At least schedule a meeting (even over the phone like we did) with a good lawyer, they charge about $100/meeting and you can decide how your situation looks. Just be sure to ask around and hire a good professional with a successful history.

Cheers and good luck!

U come from extremely high fraud country. Really young to be doing k1 visa also. There's so many red flags I really don't foresee it being approved. Also, there is a travel ban for Tunisia. Not sure how that will effect things also..

may want to really think about all this. Big step. And lots of red flags..

I do not believe Tunisia is on the ban list. They have a very high level of internal security. Not sure if they cooperate with US Embassy people though.

If you can afford it, go for it? What?? No. You've seen denials due to errors? Really? Can you provide any examples? RFE yes, denial though? I don't recall ever seeing that on VJ. I HAVE read a dozen or more stories on VJ about people trying to fix some mess their lawyer made for them. Meanwhile the overwhelming majority of VJ posters have gone through the K-1 process w/no problems doing it on their own.

I’m not looking to start this discussion with you, I merely express my opinion to the OP like everybody else. I have an excellent lawyer that helped a lot of my friends in the US to deal with some pretty complex situations and I wouldn’t have done a better job on my own. It’s funny how a lot of people on VJ demonize lawyers while YES I know people who have been DENIED because of bad self repression due to not knowing certain aspects, or due to really bad clerical errors. Not understanding questions of applicantion and therefore thechnically lying. And it’s even more funny how people trust opinions here more than they trust people who passed the bar to advise. To me it’s like googling your symptoms instead of seeing a doctor.

Also. RFE is not the end of the world, but if I have a trusted professional that can help me get my case approved without extra work, worrying and wondering I’m gonna go for it.  Personal choice. Personal opinion.

I don't think this would be a concern. I sent one of our very early chat logs from 2005 when I was 15 and he was 18 where I told him how I felt about him for the first time. I think it would be a concern if they're both underage right now, which isn't the case.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

And who knows, maybe for you it wasnt - I just know I have talked to 2 couples who were denied CR1 and a lot of the basis was that the person over 18 was talking to someone under 18. I'm not saying it happens everytime, nor am I insinuating it could happen here - just that it was a possibility. The poster states that they met officially when they were both 18 so hopefully it will not be a problem for them.

If you really love each other why you don't  marry first in Tunisia? He can come back to US and do the petition for you as his wife? Thats another option I think. It would take a little longer for you to come to US, but it would be a better case. I did that with wife. My wife was 19 and I was 25 at the time. We are from El Salvador. And I did everything by myself with help from good people on this forum :) Good luck.

Not really~ it depends on the country of origins. Every culture treats differently. Even if you are still 17 years old, in muslim culture it’s okay as long as you had parents’s concern or under parents guidance.

For OP: I don’t see any significant red flags in your case. My fiance and I did all the paperwork ourselves, our case similar to yours (except for the age part, lol), don’t do the engangement party nor the ‘Islamic’ marriage yet. But if your family require you to do one, please do CR1 instead.

I think lawyer will be used if there’s serious red flag cases.

First of all, I don't know if Tunesia is a difficult embassy or not, you might want to check the regional portal for that.

Second, you have almost the exact timeline me and my fiancé have, lol. We met online I 2016, I went to visit him July 2017, and again in December 2018 when we filed the petition. We just got our NOA2 recently. So the timeline is not something to worry about perse.

Be careful with an engagement party!!! Please don't have one. Especially not when you guys dress up fancy and it looks all official and things. Sometimes these things can make it look like you already got married on that day and you will be too married for a K1. So have a get together for friends and family but don't make it into anything that looks official.

You don't need rapidvisa or a lawyer. You can do it all yourself with the help of the lovely people here at VJ. At the top of the page theres a button called immigration guides, you will find all the info you need right there.

You say : I went to visit him July 2017, and again in December 2018

Do you mean December 2017.

Wen was your noa1?

To the OP,  everyone has concerns with being denied a visa. That's part of the brutal thoughts involved with waiting so long for approval.

At the end of the day as long as the beneficiary put together the very best petition in their power, then the couple have nothing to worry about.

Personally, I wouldn't hire a lawyer. There's nothing complex about your case and and there's a lot more money you need to save for other parts of your visa journey

the engagement party will be assumed by CO at interview as marriage celebration  / do not send photos of those

and he has to convert

Tuniaia is one of the high fraud countries so when he applies he should submit document of his conversion to Islam

it is good that he will make more than 1 trip  / it would be helpful if u could marry on 2nd trip and do the CR1 spouse visa
