Hi all,

My husband is currently adjusting, and I'm a student who does not meet the income requirements. As such, my father is going to be co-sponsoring. We are all in the same house (my husband and I are in the basement suite, and my parents along with my two younger brothers occupy the rest of the house). He is the only other person in the house with income. After reading a bunch of different forum posts and the like, I'm still slightly confused as to whether he would fill out I-864 or I-864A.

Thank you in advance :)

hi

you as the petitioner files the i864 as the primary sponsor, regardless of what income you make. your dad will file the i864A as your household member

Agree! I also had the same situation, I filed the I-84 and my mother filed the I-864A as a household member.

Thank you!! I knew I filed the I-864, I just wasn’t sure if he did one as well or if he did the I-864A. I really appreciate it ☺️
