I am interested in other people's experiences as far as dealing with all of the changes from when you actually submitted the K1, to when you eventually ( ) got your interview.

For my fiance and I, since we filed, we have both changed jobs, we have both moved, I am on the verge of having to change my passport because it will expire... and other little bits and things that are going to mean that, really, the detail in our application is irrelevant. How is this going to affect the interview if my case officer is asking me questions and I am consistently contradicting the information they have in front of them? We have kept them informed of address changes for the petitioner but other than that we are unable to update our files.

I would like to think that they would understand that, due to the sheer length of this process, it is wholly unfeasible to just remain stagnant in our lives, while we wait on them, for fear of being driven mad but I am sure crazier things have happened. We have been waiting a long time now (and yes, I know others are waiting longer) and I would just feel like giving up on the whole process if I get to my interview and all of these changes cause them to question anything.

Maybe it would be good to have some sort of official and secure online access to your own petition so that you are able to update details and add attachments of missing supporting docs etc. Hopefully, this will be something they take into consideration as they take the whole process online.

Anyway, just some thoughts?

Distance is no demon,

Often I think it can be a blessing for those in love,

a silent, underappreciated blessing.

It will have no power over us.

When you come stumbling to my door after months, with flowers and wine in hand,

I will be ready.

When I pick you up from the airport, the feeling will be unmatched,

that feeling like birds bursting in song from beneath my lungs,

that feeling unlike any other.

We have to stay strong and remember what is most important;

I love you, and you, me.

The air between us is nothing but a metaphor.

Nothing, not one thing, can come between us.

also, before the interview the beneficiary submits the actual application and can put up to date information on that, then speak about it in the interview if questioned :)

.. Not sure why you're stressing about any of this. When they will ask the beneficiary anything, he/she just needs to answer truthfully.. If they ask about the job the answer is just "oh, previously it was this job but now currently it's that job." As long as it doesn't affect the petitoner ability to financialy sponsor the beneficiary, it doesn't matter.

You're wasting time and energy worrying about this stuff. ;) they will never allow to update stuff and petition because that would make the whole process 10x longer if they would have to track every case that was suddenly updated with small details.

I think the anxiety is driving me crazy! haha. Thanks for your clear-headed opinion.

His job change is actually for the better. When we filed he was a student and now he earns way over the necessary amount, which is nice. Of course I the beneficiary will answer everything truthfully, there is nothing to hide. My concern was just that it might seem like I don't know what I'm talking about if she/he is going by the info in front of them.

I actually believe that online updates have the potential to make it much quicker, if it was utilized correctly, because an automated email could be sent saying "items blah, blah and blah are missing from your application. Please log on add upload these docs" or "you failed to tick any boxes on question blah, please log on and address this" and that way the USCIS staff are only having to look through fully complete files. I'm sure some people will say that it should be done right by the filer in the first place and yes, of course, but we are only human and we miss things and we get things wrong.

For example, we forgot the letter of intent to marry, so if we had access to the application we could nip on there, upload a file and then a little electronic sticker could just be added to the case to say "document added to file 07/26/2018". Anyway..... this is neither here nor there as we all know how the system currently works (kind of) and its far from that efficient. I just like to think of little solutions for making our lives better! :)

My fiance also changed jobs recently and I think is great because that process allow me to understand better what he does at work. He's an electrician and wires robots in a manufacturing plant and the new job is more attractive in a big company, he kept me involve in all the process from the first call to the interview and the first days so now I know every detail! They know that life changes and I don't think some updates would make a big deal as long as you cover all the requirements.

The significant part of the petition is that your fiancé is a US citizen, you have met in person within 2 years,  you are both free to marry, and you intend to marry within 90 days of entry on a K 1 visa. Adresses and jobs are not the meat of getting approved to bring a fiancé into the US. They provide biographical history for any kind of checks USCIS needs to run.

It's unlikely you will receive your letter if instruction from London if you no longer live at your petition address but you don't need it. How to apply for a visa is posted on the embassy website. Your visa application (DS-160) will contain current addresses and information. Your visa delivery address will be between you and the courier when you make those arrangements online. London will not grill you with hard questions. It's a very short chat. You aren't graded on how many of 3-5 questions you get right. They don't care if you bring a new passport from the one in your petition. You don't have to explain in advance. Take the new one to the embassy and you're good.

Your timeline estimates a date of July 6, 2018 and July 11, 2018,  since you are over that, I would think it would be any day now, hoperfully.  The dates of course are just estimates based on everyone else that has the applied dates similar.
