Acceptance in today’s society

We are becoming a world where acceptance is supposed to be the norm.  We are supposed to recognize and respect that gays, transgenders, those whom do not recognize two genders, those who want to have multiple non-gender-specific pronouns used on a daily basis...  in short, we are supposed to accept and not think ill of anyone who does not display the traditional behavior of a male-female relationship society.  People have rights.  We cannot discriminate.  We must accept.  

 

But how far do we go with that?  Must we accept those with murderous idealogies?  Must we respect those who themselves have no respect for human life?  Where do we draw the line?  When is enough... ENOUGH?  Think long and hard about what we as humanity are slowly becoming, what we are today accepting as normal that which used to be considered a mental aberration or disease.  Because it is not slowing down, it is not stopping.  One day, you will be expected to hug a pedophile and emreace their “difference” as just another expression of a human being.

Some of their stuff is good but definitely not this.

this is sketchy as hell. where can i find the official response from tedx? i can't find any links from any reputable sources.

I don't think there is an official response.

Most Ted talks are just random people presenting their ideas.

if it was a legit ted talk, it wasn't poor translation and tedx removed it from their channel - the only people continuing to spread it around are these crazy paranoia hyped sites. if an 'article' links to a youtube channel that is a guy talking over the video as it plays on his television..it's pretty obvious it's not worth minding.

I think I might have heard something about this TED talk on social media, I didn't really think anything of it. 

 

i personally have tickets for TEDxDetroit and im Pretty stoked about it.

nice. i've seen some pretty awesome ted talks, lidia yuknavitch and roxane gay come to mind..

so you're not surprised it was removed? the op sort of suggests that tedx is no more than a slippery slope to a place where children have no human rights. i'd say the recent family separations at the border are more indicative of lost human rights than a removed ted talk.

The TEDxDetroit is a 9 hour event, so hopefully a few contributes will blow me away.

No, what I was saying is if this is true where Tedx hosted a speaker advocating this then it surprised me. Honestly I have not had the time today to delve into this beyond the surface but I will.

I am surprised that this was even on TED. They have pretty interesting, weird and good speakers but I have never seen them as a company that would just be like "hey, let's invite a pedophile"

 

But I do not see what this has to do with murderers and gay people.
