Does anyone know if the specific path taken to get to citizenship affects processing time/interview difficulty? My husband obtained a green card 3 years ago, and has a citizenship application pending. We filed a 601a waiver, which is applying for permanent residence while living in the country without lawful presence. He moved to the US as a teenager undocumented, and we started the immigration process 11 years after that (after 2 years married). He was not protected by DACA. We just aren't sure if this would make the process longer than other cases, or if that has no bearing?

It won't help.  They will essentially re-adjudicate the initial I-485 decision.  In this climate, this is not the kind of stuff that makes things easier or faster.

I am not sure here why you had to file a 601A. Is unlawful presence/overstay not forgiven when AOSing through marriage? How did your husband cross the border?

[01/10, 2018]  - DAY 323  (day 2149) (N-400) Naturalization Oath Ceremony (5 years, 10 months, 19 days)

[01/10, 2018]  - DAY 001  (day 2149) (US Passport) Applied for US Passport, regular processing

01/25, 2018]  - DAY 015  (day 2164) (US Passport) Passport in hand (5 years, 11 months, 3 days from start of Journey.)

OP's husband EWI (entered without inspection a.k.a entered illegally) as a minor. One cannot AOS without legal entry.
