Just wanted to let everybody know that everything's normal in Morocco, it's just Casa trying to give us going through Morocco trouble (like they didn't give me enough!).

I'm back... glad I didn't use time in cyber to write about this.

Anyone wants some hot olives?

Wish I could have stayed over there... :crying:

They *do not* let the USC inside... you'll have to wait outside probably in a cafe across the street, but you could send your passport in w/ him so they know you're there. Good luck!

Thanks for relaying that to me, Noura. Wow, that's a real bummer. I wonder if it even makes a difference to be there then, waiting outside. Does the USC's presence in the country at the time of the interview get any "bonus points"? I need to make sure before I take valuable time off from the office; That's my honeymoon leave of absence that I would be "dippin' into". By the way, I'm from New Orleans too...and I sooo miss crawfish on the lake with a pina colada snowball and beignets from Cafe Du Monde! :content:

I cooked Zatarain's "Dirty Rice" for the (future) in-laws when I was in Morocco last December and they loved it. Also made Jambalaya (with the halal chicken sausage from Acima!) when I was there again in March and my mother-in-law raved. I am getting them all hooked on cajun/creole food, lol but the spiceyness of the Zatarain's jambalaya made my brother-in-law cough and turned his cheeks all red, which rendered me a wee bit embarassed....

....but not as embarassed as the time in March when I made whole wheat penne pasta with tomato alfredo sauce and goat kabobs. It was my first time cooking goatmeat, and I didn't bake the kabobs in the woodburning stove long enough....so we were just chewing, and chewing, and chewing.....

Good for you, Iysha.

This time my husband's relatives didn't let me do anything! I tried making banana bread, thought they had everything on hand! Oh yeah! Get the eggs, the milk and the baking soda. Bananas too. Then his grandma and him started screwing with the oven... Oh man!

Maybe the baking soda is different there? It didn't rise too well and they were opening the oven like 5-6 times, so of course the bread fell and was blah.

My olives don't have any lemons in them , but they're still very good, plus I got the spicy pepper sause!

I used it in harira and they laughed at me... Well, they laughed at a lot of stuff I did. Of course, now I feel terrible! I woke up and wanted to hug his uncle's baby! Silly me, I'm home now :bonk:

And I finally learned how to wear a hidjab, so not too many people would stare at me! Ok, going back to the messed up house - three cats and 2 teenagers.
