It states on the I-864 (I haven't gotten to the I-134 yet) you need to show proof if you did not have to file? How am I suppose to do that? I am on SSI and under the poverty line. I have never worked and am also a college student.

Also, is SSI is considered income, correct? Do I state I am unemployed or employed and if so, by whom?

Yes, I am filing with a co-sponsor and yes, I know typically the I-864 is not required but the Paris Embassy asks for it, so I want to fill out both.

Another question:

On the I-864, on question 24 it asks:

(e) The person listed above, (Name) does not need to complete Form I-864A because he/she is the intending immigrant and has no accompanying dependents.

What do I put here? The petitioner or beneficiary? And what does my co-sponsor put?

Ephesus,

Immigration may be the least of your problems. If your income is below the poverty level who is paying to keep you alive? Is that person willing and able to pay for your fiancee as well? Life's a pain when one is cold and hungry, not good for a marriage.

Without going into too much detail, I have more than enough to live off of. My fiancé will be flying into JFK and will get a job thereafter.

So, could you just tell me how to write the statement that I did not have to file tax forms?

Just explain you are a student whose income did not make the minimum filing requirements. That is all there is to it.

I have no idea though how you have more than enough to live off of but don't have to file taxes. All sounds weird.
