Hi guys,

We finally have our I 129F in transit.

NOA2: 07/02

NVC left and in transit: 07/24

I have my medical booked for 08/18 and hoping for an interview around mid September for possible POE mid October. When can I or should we wait to book an interview date? Would like to bring my fiancé if possible too.

Thanks,

Jon 🍀

From personal experience, you can book your medical with Knightsbridge if you have your NVC case number - Knightsbridge is booked up in advance so i called as soon as we had our case number & my ACRO Police certificate ordered

Hey Lucia!

I was following the sub sub forum for UK and realised Knightsbridge were few weeks out. We got the case number last Wednesday and so I rang straight away. I had ordered my ACRO around 10th of July and selected 2 day service as I know we will need this for our next streps. Great to have option of this. I’m in London next mid month anyhow (as I’m from N Ireland) as Jake is coming across for vacation so my date of medical 18/08/18 worked out great! Good luck and I’m sure you will get sorted easily with Knightsbridge. Was fairly easy booking medical.

Hey!!

Sorry to ask again but when I log onto CEAC it says I’m transit but also says an interview has been scheduled. Can I not choose a date that suits me or is this just a standard response to include such info? Sorry it’s all new to me 🤣

Thanks

I know! Well, I know from my email from NVC there was no interview date on it. Maybe it’s in the mail that they will post out? Pretty sure I’ve read somewhere that you can change the date of the interview and reschedule (only after the the date they’ve given you). Hoping for some input from others who have already had their interview ☺️

Hey, this is s standard response. Unfortunately the messages etc. haven't been updated to reflect the new processes which is generating a lot of confusion.

If you have your Case number, fill out the DS-160, once you have done this you can book your interview online if the embassy have receive your electronic file. If they haven't it will just say "you can't book your interview yet", but you can keep trying.

With the DS-160 you do not need to upload a photo, if you just proceed to the next step of going to upload the photo and then upload a scan or something it will probably tell you that the photo isn't good enough and to make sure you bring one with you. Of course if you do have photo's already then you should be fine.

Hey!!

This is awesome!

We have filled in the DS-160 and are just proof reading it to double check. I tried uploading my pic and it accepted it. So I’m assuming that even though it’s a standard response from NVC-they don’t actually schedule your interview and that in fact you only do it yourself when the Consular has received your petition and you have submitted your DS 160?

Sorry for all all the questions-should really have spent more time researching 🙄

Hey, it's totally fine. it can be hard to navigate through the posts here and decide what's relevant or not. I enjoy helping.

That's great your DS-160 is fine. You need the DS-160 number to book the interview, that's the only reason you need to do this first. For example, I booked my interview when my case status still said "In transit", this was about 4 weeks ago now. I didn't receive my confirmation letter from the embassy until last week.

They do not schedule your interview, you need to create an account online and you book it yourself, and it's at this point you pay the VISA fee, and choose if your VISA will be delivered by courier or you will pick it up from a specified place.

They will eventually send an A4 envelope containing a copy of your approved petition, and a letter with the a web address (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv) to book your interview. But you can do this before you receive your petition and everything back.

Just to put your mind at ease, that CEAC message is generic to cover many visas. True immigrant visas, like spouse visas, have most of their paper processing done at NVC and an interview assigned by NVC before the whole file is shipped off to London. The messages are kinda one-size-fits-all. Your visa is actually "non-immigrant" but since your K1 is handled by the immigrant visa unit in London, you will check status and book things on the "immigrant" version of the site. You may find other messages more appropriate to spouse visas along the way, but don't get too caught up in status messages.
