Hi everyone

Quick summary: I was married back in 2015 and unfortunately, it was short-lived. Ex filed for divorce 2 months after I got my 2yr card in March 2016. I was completely blindsided, had to move out, sleep some days in my car and moved to a different state to start all over again. I had to get divorce and an immigration lawyers because my case would be complicated. I have been in the U.S since 2003 on a student visa (never expired or went out of status) and I've got 2 degrees. Met my ex when I was about to graduate, we dated and got married in July 2015. We didn't have joint bank accounts and he filed his taxes as head of household and didn't include me as a member of his household. This was a week before he filed for the divorce. I didn't know about this tax filing till the divorce lawyer subpoenaed different documents for me. We had combined lease, car insurance and pictures together. I paid utility bills and we both bought other supplies together. We also had a car with a joint title. No kids though. He had 2 kids before he met me.

The divorce ended in December 2016 and the immigration lawyer filed for my 10yrs in February 2017. I turned in all the joint documents, my bank statements (showing the bills I paid), text messages, pictures and 3 affidavits from people who knew us as a couple. I obviously wasn't expecting a separation or divorce so wasn't consciously gathering extensive evidence during our dating and marriage period.

I got a letter this July 2018 saying they need further evidence of a good faith marriage. At this point, I don't have an other documents, proof or evidence they don't already have. I'm confused on what to do next. Any advice will do. Thanks

Affidavits of friends and family, more bills, health insurance, more pictures, receipts from trips together, any paperwork that would have both of your names on it will do. I’d gather as much as possible and bring in everything you’ve got.

I'm sorry you have to endure this but you can also try to prove extreme hardship if deported.
