He automatically becomes a citizen the moment you take the oath. When you apply for his passport the evidence of his citizenship will be his GC & your naturalization certificate.

one other question is... we are planning to traveling oversea.

If he automatically becomes us citizen, can he re-enter the U.S with his green card, or does he need to apply for U.S passport?

He needs a US passport.

Look for the nearest acceptance facility here. Like I said, under-16 minors cannot apply via mail. (Nor can you, when you apply for your first US passport. You'll be able to renew yours via mail.)

You can't file the application at the post office that has that service?  I know our post office schedules passport application acceptance appointments.  We didn't use it, but I had never heard this before.

I think you need to go to a passport office (usually a county courthouse or some suchlike) to apply for a kid's passport, rather than the post office.

Many post offices allow for passport applications.

Adults can, and kids who have had one before I think, but first time passports for kids I THINK have to go to a passport office.

I applied for my daughter's passport when she was 2 months old at a post office. We had to make an appointment but we were able to get it done. We had to call a central number in Brooklyn and we told them which post office to make the appointment. We were in and out within minutes. All we did was to sign the form in front of the rep. They kept her original birth certificate as evidence of citizenship. Her passport came about 10 days later and we had applied for regular service. Two days later, her birth certificate came in the mail. We paid a processing fee of $25 to the post office.

Not all Post Offices are collections agencies.

Not in every post office. In my little town, the post office closest to me doesn't have this service. (You can send adult renewals, of course, by mail.)

You can apply at a post office, which is in effect acting like a processing center.  They will review the all your documents, have you sign the form and then they'll forward it to the passport center.  At least in NY, you can...

Hello

I am going to the Oath Ceremony tomorrow, and become a U.S citizen.

My son who is 2 years old has a green card through me and had it for 2 years.

After I become a U.S citizen tomorrow, is he eligible to switch to U.S citizen? if so, what form do I need to fill out? N-400 or N-600? I am little confused....

Thank you very much for the help!!

Apply for the N-600 it is best in my opinion for him to have his own record for later in life. One never knows........

The fee for filing Form N-600 is $1,170.  A bit expensive for "one never knows."

I have first hand knowledge of trying to prove your citizenship based on your parents and it can be a difficult task.  But if money is the issue, going the simple way is best, but think of it like an insurance policy, you don't need it until you need it.  Just my opinion.

US Passport is a legal proof of US citizens.

"Proof" is the operative word here.  The OP can do what's in their best interest, however I was just giving my opinion based on prior knowledge.
