So, you have 1 month together physically? That's it?

Above average for the members here.  No worries.

My wife and I dated for 2 years. I thought that was short. Even with 2 children we were questioned exhaustively during the interview. I certainly hope people in general, especially filipinas, are taking the time to know who they are marrying. I honestly believe 1 month is ridiculous and should not be the norm for any country. Its a recipe for disaster.

Just take it for what it is. 2 consenting adults, so they can do what they want. If it works out great, if it doesn't don't complain about it afterwards.

I dated my now-wife for a year before proposing, then married around the 2 year mark. We only spent about a 1-1.5 months physically together (4 trips across 6 countries, 1-2 weeks each) before getting the visa.

There wasn't really any other way to see each other more often without quitting our jobs...I used literally all my saved up PTO just to see her as often as we did. At the same time, we knew we wanted to marry based on the totality of our interactions together.

The USEM CO didn't have any issue with our relationship...photos from trips together, communication with family members, meeting her family, video and text chats/calls, etc. was skimmed over (likely to see that the evidence actually existed) and then we were approved. More focus was put on her trips abroad w/o me (week trips with her workmates).

With USEM, as long as you can show that you are a typical couple, you should be fine. They're pretty fair (some would even say lenient but I disagree...they will jump on and press questions anything that sounds suspicious).

The point is that what you think is short, is irrelevant to a discussion of the OP's case.  The couple, family and Consular Officer's opinion about the relationship is what counts.  Time together in person is discussed here in the context of evidence the relationship is bona fide.  Bona fide before and during the visa process, is no guarantee the relationship will be a great one or that it will last.

There is also no minimum amount of time to know each other or be together in person that assures, bona fide, happy, or long lasting will ultimately describe the relationship.  So, please keep the personal judgments to yourself.

Immigration is not in the business of marriage counseling or advice. They just want to make sure that they only give green cards to people in bona fide marriages, not to those in sham marriages or scammers. It doesn't matter when and how the couple decided to get married, as long as they didn't get married for immigration purposes only (whether you get married for love or because you don't want to be alone, or because it's expected, or because you're desperate, or whatever doesn't matter). In some cultures people are not allowed to spend time alone with each other before marriage. Dating is a not allowed in many cultures. Those marriages are still real though.

Whether the marriage will make you happy is of no concern to USCIS. You're an adult, so you're allowed to make your own decisions and decide for yourself when the right time to get married is.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you read my comments thoroughly, you would clearly see that those are my opinions and experiences when going through immigration. My experiences I shared to better prepare you for the obstacles coming ahead. My opinions, by no way, shape or form, are judgements. Regardless, if you feel imposed on for some reason, my apologies.

Natasia, what you do with your life is your choice, I never told you to do otherwise. Binibigyan ka lang ng experience ko.
