First off thank you for reading my profile.

I am married serious about divorce and considering marriage with a lawyer in pakistan. I know you think he is using me but i have talked to his family.

He needs a tourist Visa but will my spouse find out. I dont want to jeopardize my marriage if he is the wrong choice which i know he is not. My husband is not good to me.

The question is will my spouse know? He will only stay 2 weeks.

Thank you for your time

If your husband is not good to you then leave your husband. Clearly your marriage is already in jeopardy.

In any case nothing you do has anything to do with whether or not the lawyer gets a tourist visa.

His family is ok with their son's relationship with a still-married woman?

Not the first time on VJ we’ve heard of family support for those after green cards.

Thank you for responses. I very much appreciate that. He says the government says a letter from a usa resident will cost much much less than getting his own tourist visa

Im guessing this will not work out. Sad.

I only wonder as they go through my paperwork will my husband be aware.

This post makes absolutely no sense, sorry. He needs a visa to visit no matter what you write, and the cost of a visa is fixed,

Why is there such a low chance of him getting a tourist visa.

Thank you

This won't work out because the odds of him getting a tourist visa (which he needs, there is no replacement for it - no letter from you can help) are so so low.

He said he needs a letter from you because it will "cost less"? Sounds like a scam to me.

Did your husband petition you?

So what paperwork of yours are you referring to? You don't send anything. You don't sponsor. You don't attend the interview. So there should be no paperwork of yours involved.

Excellent point

Both these thoughts popped in my mind too.

i also wonder how OP really knows the people she spoke to are indeed family, too.

Can you tell why i everyone is after a green

What.

I wonder if he also told you that you need to send him money or whatever. Sounds like a scam. Especially with that invitation thing.

In personal note. I feel like advising on posts like this is morally wrong... OP, if you're unhappy then divorce and then find a new man. Cheating in relationship is just bad.

For some countries, it is difficult for people to obtain a visitor visa to the US because many before them has used the visa to come and work and live here instead of only visiting and returning home. This has caused immigration to set up methods to determine if a person is a high risk of abusing a visitor visa. Millions of visitor visas are issued per year, but US immigration has to control and monitor who receives them. In a person who is from a poor country and does not have a family or job, he or she will be seen as a higher risk than a business owner who has sufficient money to vacation in the US. The average annual salary in Pakistan is around $1500 per year. A person making minimum wage at a fast food restaurant can make 10 times that ($7.50 per hour minimum wage at 40 hours per week equals about $15,000).

Good question.

Many people in the world have this view of America being a way to have a better life. They fall into the America Dream myth. Some simply want to be reunited with family. Some want to make a higher income or start a business. There are many reason people want to come. Unfortunately, in some cases the reasons are desperation to escape poverty, war, political prosecution, or crime.

He's from Pakistan. The US assumes everyone wants to immigrate here. He has to prove he has no intention to immigrate in order to get a tourist visa. That is often a challenge for someone from Pakistan. If he's employed and has a lot of $, he has a high chance of getting a visa. If he's unemployed with few, if any assets, he's out of luck.

Nothing is stopping you from getting divorced if you are considering marriage to another man.

Possible if you, your new man, or someone you know/are related to tells your husband that another man came to visit you on a "more than friendship" basis.

Also possible that, if he DID get the visa approved, a border officer may phone you as his intended US contact to verify the purpose of his trip when he reaches the US (long-shot, but does happen on rare occasion) and your husband answers the phone.

You're already jeopardizing your marriage by having an affair.  If you're certain he's not the wrong choice then set yourself free by getting a divorce.

Then consider divorcing before moving on to someone who'll treat you better.

It will also give your husband a chance to find someone who'll treat him better, too.

It is rather difficult for a Pakistani to get a visit Visa to USA invitation letter will be no help.   Best bet might be for you both to vacation in Dubai.
