One thing that always stuck with me was when I was given my appointment date by NVC. They stated not to make any plans until you have the actual Visa in hand. While this advice seems obvious it could not be any more true.

All sorts of things can happen after the interview. People who were denied might be able to submit information and get approved. People who are approved might get denied. In my case my passport was lost by Canada Post for several days. Honestly anything can happen. I can understand your anxiety as you can see the finish line but are not sure whether you have actually crossed it.

I know ... believe that we have learned a lot in this process, first it took 8 months to approve the noa2, then nvc  took two months and for embassy, took us 2 months to go to our appointment. now we are living this ... then we can not even say we see the finish line, because we are still waiting.

We ended up getting married in the Philippines and are in the CR-1 process now.  The CO took their passports and congratulated them and then we got the news that we were refused due to a stupid mistake I made while filling out the petition.  We were refused during AP after the successful interview.

All I can say is that it did hurt and it was difficult at first.  We know we will be together eventually so we decided the go the CR-1 route instead of another K-1.

You will get an explanation at some point.  Just stay positive and keep your eye on the prize.

Thank you John!!!... my interview was not very long the first officer asked me for some papers (my fiance divorce degree, w2, job letter, my birth certificate) He asked for my medical exam and he sent me with the second officer who asked me for my fiancé, he made me about 6 or 8 questions and finally he said "congratulations ... your visa has been approved. do you know where you are going to pick it up? And I say yes... so he say “you can go to pick it up in a week or two” he gave me a paper about domestic violence and my approval sheet where he says the instructions to pick up my passport in my courier.

our status was always in "ready", then change  the last Friday to “application received" and yesterday changed to "refused" ... never pass through AP as all people comment.

today I called the CAS (center of attention to applicants) to ask for my shipping number, she told me that my application was still open. I told her what I had on my page and she told me that she did not see that, so I need to wait the 10 business days that they asked me.

We have not received any email yet ... so I'm still hoping we can finish this process ... but we've talked about plans b or c

Never give up hope. I pray that everything is OK. Just remember that this is not the end of the journey. Stay strong. Stay positive. Don’t let the process hurt your relationship. Stay in love and support each other. No matter what, the end will be the same. You will be in the arms of your love. That is all that matters.

This is not always an easy journey.  It is so easy to lose track of why we are doing this.  Whatever it takes, we will do.  The process seems designed to challenge weaker relationships.  Don't let it do that.  Stay strong and everything will work out fine.

Waivers are EASY!  A simple letter requesting the waiver and the reason that you are filing again.  Waivers are not bad at all.  Seriously, just a couple paragraphs on a page are all it takes.

Depends on the reason for a waiver being needed...i.e. if it's an inadmissibility requiring an I-601 then it's more than just a letter (and ~$1000 fee). This assumes it is a waiver for the visa to overcome the inadmissibility...not an issue with the petition in which a new filing is needed.

@OP What's the reason for a waiver, if you don't mind sharing?
