Urgent - There's still time to Contact your Senators

There is still time to call your Senators and tell them to support CIR and the American Family United amendments for Family Unity. Call them every day, even next week. They do count the number of calls they get in support or against issues, so the more calls, faxes, emails they get in support the better.

Use the 800# below and it will allow you to connect to both of your senators (you have to call once for each). Tell the person who answers the phone that you want the Senator to support CIR and our family unity amendments.

CALL IN DAYS

We have a brief window of opportunity to make real changes in the immigration laws – changes that will end the separation and suffering of families who are stuck in a system that has no compassion or common sense. All of us at American Families United and UniteFamilies.org are working hard to make sure that window doesn’t close without consideration for families but we need your help. WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

The Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform has helped in setting up a national call in week: Monday, May 7 – Friday, May 11

Call every-day this week and urge your Senators to support reform! Keep our message strong by keeping our numbers up. It is OK to call more than once per individual.

Call this number, and follow the instructions to connect to the offices of your Senators:

1-800-417-7666

Tell your Senators to “ACT NOW IN FAVOR OF COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM THAT REUNITES NUCLEAR FAMILIES!”

www.americanfamiliesunited.org

You can also find your Senators' directly at www.senate.gov. If you call directly, use the phone for their Washington, D.C. office. You can also fax there or send email.

It is usually good form to provide a link so people can read the text of the legislation you are asking them to support.

i bet if you check other forums it's in there too. i saw an identical post by the op in mena, no link either.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

About Us

Who We Are

American Families United works to ensure that American immigration law protects families. We represent American citizens in legitimate marriages. We pursue both legislative and media strategies to safeguard a fair, timely and transparent family immigration process.

Immigration law should not divide families. This has been a principle of the law for decades. However, the current reality does not reflect this principle. The rules and the process are not family-friendly.

We want to correct these problems as part of the immigration reform currently being considered in Congress. This is about ensuring that American immigration laws and institutions support American families by making sure Americans have the ability to live in their country with their spouses and children. It is a necessary part of any solution, and it should not take a back seat to correcting other immigration problems.

Officers

President - David Guard

Vice President - Brenda Friederich

Secretary/Treasurer - Randall Emery

Structure

American Families United is a 501©(4) non-profit organization. As such, we are free to focus on lobbying efforts, but donations are not tax-deductible.

The bill would ....

Lower barriers to legal immigration for immediate family members of US citizens.

Improve availability of waivers of inadmissibility for spouses of US citizens.

Eliminate administrative delays in completing background checks.

Enforce accountability within the immigration process so that government errors and long delays do not cause further separation.

Create incentives that encourage the government to process petitions, visas and security clearances in a timely manner, and reverse the current system that has no consequences for delays, stalling or wrongfully denying a lawful benefit.
