I filed for i-751 a year & 3 months ago, and I recently did an infopass to get the i-751 stamp.

I was asked if I had filed for n-400 which I have, and I was told that because I did, they have stopped looking at the i-751 application and instead just doing the n400.

Has this happened to anyone else? Have anyone not gotten their 10 year greencard and instead just waited for the n400 (I have about 10 months to go for the n400 according to the official estimate).

I guess this means the i-751 stamp is the only way to prove my status until n400 is complete? I was hoping for a new greencard in the meantime, but I guess that isn't happening and instead will just wait until the n400 is complete.

It is not that the I751 is stopped, it is just that the N400 is combined with the N400 and since the local offices process the N400, the I751 is sent there for adjudication, so CSC or VSC stop any work they are or were doing with it.  In our case, my wife filed her N400 while the I751 was pending and when the N400 interview was scheduled, the IO also conducted a short I751 joint interview with me.  There is a pretty nice thread discussing combined N400/I751 filers.

Good Luck!

My husband applied for naturalization while his I-751 was pending. In June he received his notification for tho n400 interview. On Wednesday of last week he was given a letter telling him he also had his I-751 interview TOMORROW. So, the only problem for us was that was less than a week for us to get employment letters and to put together a packet specific for the I-751. We knew they would be together, but we didn’t know there would be a few things required for it that we weren’t planning for (specifically employment letters).
