We applied for the I485 along with the EAD in the middle of March. Yesterday, only 4 months later, we get the notice for the interview. Checked the USCIS Status online and yep, status is 'interview scheduled'. The interview is a month from now. We filed at the Chicago office. We haven't even received the EAD yet which  you're supposed to get first. Is this normal? I thought they were taking a lot longer than that. I mean, we're excited, but it seems so soon to get it, just wanted to see if anyone else had that happen to them.

Yes, my wife came here on a K-1 Visa last October. Thanks.

we received a similar notice: "your interview is ready to be scheduled", but nothing has happened still. Our local field office is backed up I believe to who know when. It only has been there since March 2017. Basically a new local office with personnel not up to speed and a huge backlog

Wow, sorry to hear that. I hope it gets resolved soon.

Some USCIS field offices are faster than others. What is your local office? Not the Chicago lockbox you filed at, but the nearest USCIS Field Office to you.
