Im non pivot case and as soon as I received welcome letter there was no DS261 and I was able to pay both fees. Been told it was because NVC already knew I had a lawyer taking care of my case, so that was a nice surprise!

I did CEAC online as well. Super convenient, especially for those of us residing outside of the country. Snail-mailing internationally takes a chunk of change (if you want to make sure it doesn't get lost on the way). Took 2 weeks from full submission of all documents to approval, although many get approved faster than that

Hi! I finally got my case number today, after NVC receiving the case April 25th. My pase is Pivot. Does anyone have any idea if CEAC is usually down? Has this happened before and also how long does it take for the case to be complete? If i do everything on time.

I was also surprised to find I didn't have to submit the DS-261. It was straight to submitting payments, then doing the DS-260 and submitting IV/AOS documents.

We submitted a G-1145 form with the I-130 when we submitted to USCIS. I was wondering if because we did that the DS-261 wasn't required or they've just gotten rid of it altogether if you are submitting via CEAC.

Either way it was pretty straightforward.

Quick question - do you need to email any documents to NVC or do you upload all the documents on the CEAC site?
